Enter Jack Byrnes, a seemingly affable but secretly intimidating retired CIA operative with a polygraph machine in his basement. During a weekend visit to the Byrnes family home for Pam's sister's wedding, Greg's attempts to impress Jack devolve into a cascade of comical calamities. From accidentally setting the backyard on fire to a lost cat and a series of unfortunate misunderstandings, everything Greg does seems to reinforce Jack's suspicions. Under Jack's ever-watchful, scrutinizing gaze, Greg navigates a minefield of social faux pas, hoping to emerge unscathed and with Jack's approval.
