About Out Stealing Horses

In November 1999, 67-year-old Trond finds solace in the quiet solitude of his new home, eagerly anticipating a solitary New Year's Eve 2000. But the tranquility is broken by the arrival of a neighbor, a face from Trond's past. This man connects him to the summer of 1948, the pivotal summer when Trond turned 15. It was a summer overshadowed by his father's preparation, a silent grooming for the heavy burden of an impending betrayal and subsequent disappearance that would forever alter the course of Trond's life. The film beautifully interweaves past and present, revealing the secrets and consequences of a long-ago summer.
