About Smithereens

Set against the backdrop of a decaying Manhattan, this underground classic follows the exploits of a self centered drifter who maneuvers through the remnants of the punk rock era. Seeking a shortcut to stardom, she navigates a series of opportunistic connections with musicians and strangers alike, highlighting the desperate struggle for relevance in an indifferent urban environment. This narrative serves as a stark examination of social climbing and the fragility of identity within a subculture that prizes authenticity while often rewarding the most ruthless of participants. Through its unvarnished portrayal of the New York underground, the film captures the essence of a woman willing to burn every bridge to reach a spotlight that may already be extinguished.

How to stream with ExpressVPN

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is an app that encrypts your internet connection and masks your IP address, allowing you to stream securely and bypass restrictions.

Why Use a VPN for Streaming?

- Bypass Geo-Restrictions: Many streaming services are geographically restricted. If you’re traveling outside the U.S., a VPN can make it appear as if you’re still in the country, giving you access to your subscriptions.

- Increase Privacy: A VPN protects your data on non-secure public Wi-Fi networks by creating an encrypted tunnel, safeguarding your personal information while you stream.
