About The Settlers

Chile, in the dawn of the 20th century. Jos Menndez, a wealthy landowner driven by expansionist ambitions, commissions a perilous expedition. He hires three horsemen: Segundo, a Chilean mestizo; MacLennan, a reckless British lieutenant; and Bill, an American mercenary. Their mission: to mark the boundaries of Menndez's vast property and forge a path to the Atlantic Ocean across the Patagonian wilderness. What begins as a seemingly straightforward mapping endeavor quickly descends into a brutal and bloody journey, exposing the dark underbelly of civilization and the systematic oppression of the indigenous Selk'nam people. The film explores the cost of ambition, the corruption of power, and the enduring scars of colonialism.
