About The Shooting

Two miners, Coley and Leland, find their simple lives upended when a mysterious woman named Woman appears in their camp, requesting their assistance to guide her to a nearby town. Initially, they agree, but as their journey progresses, Woman's increasingly erratic and unsettling behavior raises their suspicions. Coley, especially, becomes wary of her true intentions, sensing that her request is not as simple as it seems. The landscape becomes a character in itself, reflecting the internal turmoil and mistrust brewing among the travelers. As they delve deeper into the arid and unforgiving terrain, the miners begin to question the purpose of their journey and the true identity of the enigmatic woman they are escorting. What started as a simple task evolves into a tense and suspenseful odyssey, leaving them questioning everything they thought they knew.

What people like about The Shooting

Reviewers have praised The Shooting for its unconventional approach to the Western genre, highlighting its psychological depth and minimalist style. Many admire the film's stark cinematography, which perfectly captures the desolation and beauty of the desert landscape. The performances, particularly Warren Oates' portrayal of the world-weary Coley and Jack Nicholson's unsettling presence as Billy Spear, have been widely lauded. Critics also appreciate the film's ambiguous narrative, which invites multiple interpretations and challenges viewers to question the motivations of its characters. Its ability to create a palpable sense of unease and paranoia, elevating it beyond a simple genre exercise is also considered a great achievement.

How to stream with ExpressVPN

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is an app that encrypts your internet connection and masks your IP address, allowing you to stream securely and bypass restrictions.

Why Use a VPN for Streaming?
