Bruins and Red Sox fans have a new favorite channel with NESN NATION
The New England regional sports network has launched a free streaming channel to cover Boston and other northeast teams.
Right now, the Boston Bruins are one point out of the NHL Eastern Conference Playoffs with a month and a half still to play, and the Boston Red Sox are getting things going in spring training. So the regional sports network (RSN) that covers both teams (and much more) has decided that now is the perfect time to drop the news that it is adding a free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel to its lineup of coverage options. On Thursday, NESN announced the creation of NESN NATION, an around-the-clock free channel that will provide Boston fans nationwide with additional coverage of the teams and athletes that they love. The channel is currently available on a small handful of platforms with more coming and already has a host of programming planned for all of Bean Town’s favorite teams.
Key Details:
- NESN is launching a FAST channel to cover the Bruins, Red Sox, Liverpool, and more.
- The channel is available on four streaming platforms at launch, with one more planned in the coming weeks.
- NESN NATION will feature games, gameday coverage, original content, and more.
At launch, NESN NATION is set to feature over 30 hours of weekly live and original programming, focusing on NESN’s flagship teams like the Red Sox and Bruins as well as the NESN-owned Liverpool FC. In addition, the FAST channel will cover women’s sports, New England Division III teams, and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). The channel’s content will include live games, other live gameday content, press conferences, interviews, game analysis, sports gambling experts, specials, documentaries, video podcasts, and titles from NESN’s archive.
Currently, NESN NATION is available on Prime Video, Roku Channel, Plex, and Twitch, and will soon be arriving on Samsung TV Plus. For years, NESN has been at the forefront of RSN progress. The network was the first RSN to broadcast in HD and UHD, was the first to live stream MLB and NHL games in 4K/HDR, and was the first to launch a direct-to-consumer (DTC) streaming service with NESN 360.
“Given sports fans unwavering demand for their favorite teams, we’re excited to expand our portfolio with our first FAST national channel that provides easy access to both our globally recognized brands as well as our award-winning content,” NESN President and CEO David Wisnia said. “NESN NATION will deliver a range of new, live and original programming and further our mission to provide a multitude of ways for fans to engage with our must see content.”
