‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Trailer Breaks Viewer Records; When Will You Be Able to Stream It on Disney+?

The trailer for Marvel’s next cinematic adventure has accrued 365 million views in less than 24 hours, according to Disney.

Super Bowl LVIII may not have been on a Disney-owned channel, but the game delivered Disney a huge win nonetheless. That’s when the House of Mouse decided to air the first trailer for its next Marvel movie “Deadpool & Wolverine,” which will bring the titular loudmouthed hero officially into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Disney, that trailer has broken records for viewership in its first 24 hours, building anticipation for the film even more.

  • Disney has shared the new “Deadpool & Wolverine” trailer garnered 365 million views in its first 24 hours.
  • The movie could bring excitement back to the MCU, which has been in something of a slump of late.
  • Disney+ will be the streaming home of the film once it leaves theaters, but how long can fans expect to wait?

When Does ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Come to Theaters?

Hype for the movie has been off the scale since its first promo image, showing Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool standing next to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, complete with a comic-accurate yellow and blue outfit. But the excitement has reached a new fever pitch thanks to the release of the film’s trailer, which has piled up 365 million views in its first 24 hours of availability, according to Disney.

That breaks the record set by “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which similarly teased a long-anticipated superhero team-up and attracted 355 million views in its first day on the web. “Deadpool & Wolverine” will be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.

When and Where Will ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Be Streaming?

Netflix subscribers will be disappointed to learn that streamer won’t be getting its hands on “Deadpool & Wolverine” when it leaves theaters, barring a huge licensing agreement. As a Marvel film, “Deadpool & Wolverine” will hit Disney+ before any other service once it’s done with its initial cinematic run. The movie will definitely be rated R, but Disney+ has streamed other mature content, including a wide range of titles from Hulu which are currently available.

As to when “Deadpool & Wolverine” will head to streaming on Disney+, fans are likely to be in for a wait if the reaction to the movie’s trailer is any indication. “Deadpool & Wolverine” is hitting theaters on July 26, and it will likely generate a large and enthusiastic response from theatergoers, especially among fans who have been waiting to see the Deadpool and Wolverine characters reunite onscreen for the first time since 2009’s disastrous “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”

Given that information, fans shouldn’t expect to see “Deadpool & Wolverine” on Disney+ until the holidays at the earliest. It would hardly be surprising to see the movie stay in theaters for 200 days, which would put its streaming debut sometime in February of 2025. That may not be what audiences who are eager to stream it in a marathon with other “Deadpool” movies from home want to hear, but Disney’s slumping box office fortunes from its latest MCU releases like “The Marvels” will leave it more than willing to give “Deadpool & Wolverine” a long, lingering stay in theaters to bring in as much revenue as possible.

The Streamable’s expert prediction is that Disney will take advantage of the extra time audiences have during the 2024 holidays and release “Deadpool & Wolverine” to Disney+ then. But the movie’s box office performance could dictate a much longer stay in theaters, and there’s every chance it may be 2025 before fans are able to stream “Deadpool & Wolverine” on Disney+.
