Apple TV’s Messi Documentary Series Gets Trailer

Apple TV+ has released the official trailer for its highly anticipated documentary event “Messi's World Cup: The Rise of a Legend.” The four-part series will track the career of international superstar and eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi throughout his record-setting, multi-decade career with the Argentina national football team up through their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 win.

Through personal interviews with Messi and conversations with his teammates, coaches, competitors, devout fans, and commentators, the docuseries explores the ups and downs of the champion’s tenure thus far, including his early retirement in 2016 and his comeback in 2022 as the FIFA World Cup’s best player.

Comedy Cancellations at Max and Apple TV+

With streamers continuing to make cuts to their schedules, two comedies have been given the boot. First, Max has canceled Issa Rae’s “Rap Sh!t” after two seasons. The series followed two estranged high school friends from Miami, Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion), who reunite to form a rap group, fighting the demands of conformity in the music industry to stay true to themselves. The series also starred Jonica Booth, RJ Cyler, Daniel Augustin, Jaboukie Young-White, Amandla Jahava, Brittney Jefferson, and more.

Over at Apple TV+, the musical comedy series “Schmigadoon!” is coming to the end of its journey. The series followed Josh (Keegan-Michael Key) and Melissa (Cecily Strong), two doctors from New York who go on a backpacking trip when their relationship hits a rough patch and find themselves in the town of Schmigadoon, where life is a 1940s–50s-era musical and where they can only escape if they find true love. In Season 2, Josh and Melissa entered the world of Schmicago and its soundtrack of 1960s–70s musicals, including “Chicago” (of course), “Sweeney Todd,” “Cabaret,” and more.

“Life & Beth” Season 2 Trailer Out Now

Beth is back for more life. Hulu has released the Season 2 trailer for the dramedy series “Life & Beth,” which will return next month with 10 new episodes.

The dramedy series written, directed, executive produced, and starring Amy Schumer follows the title Beth, whose ideal life is upended when a sudden incident forces her to engage with her past. In Season 2, as Beth and John’s (Michael Cera) relationship grows more serious, Beth begins to examine the possibilities of marriage and having a family, doing her best to keep her other relationships alive while struggling to support friends and family facing their own problems.

Susannah Flood and Violet Young star opposite Schumer and Cera, as well as recurring stars Kevin Kane, Yamaneika Saunders, Laura Benanti, Michael Rapaport, LaVar Walker, Sas Goldberg, Arielle Siegel, Rosebud Baker, and more. The new season will also feature an all-star lineup of new guest stars, including Amy Sedaris, Beanie Feldstein, Big Freedia, Colin Quinn, Jemima Kirke, Jennifer Coolidge, Margaret Cho, Maria Dizzia, and Tim Meadows.

“Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One” Comes to Paramount+

Mission: complete. The wait is over for “Mission: Impossible” fans as Paramount+ has announced the latest franchise installment, “Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One,” will come to its platform next Thursday, Jan. 25 in the United States and Canada.

Tom Cruise reprises his role as Ethan Hunt, who, with his IMF team, embark on their most dangerous mission yet: to track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. Confronted by a mysterious all-powerful enemy in a deadly race against time and around the globe, Ethan must put the mission above everything (and everyone) else.

“Dead Recocking Part One” also stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, Frederick Schmidt, Cary Elwes, Mark Gatiss, Indira Varma and Rob Delaney.

The critical hit earned over $567.5 million at the worldwide box office last year, and its “Part Two” sequel is currently set to be released on May 23, 2025.


“Love Is Blind” Announces Season 6 Cast

Love is in the air again at Netflix! Ahead of its Valentine’s Day debut, the streamer has announced the cast for the upcoming sixth season of its hit dating competition series “Love Is Blind.”

Once again hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, Season 6 will follow a new set of 30 singles from Charlotte, North Carolina, aged 25–37, as they cut through the static of modern dating and try to forge authentic relationships, forming connections from their individual pods without seeing what their companions look like.

The first six episodes of “Love Is Blind” Season 6 will be released on Thursday, Feb. 14, followed by Episodes 7–9 on Feb. 21, Episodes 10–11 on Feb. 28, and the finale on March 6.
