NFL Sunday Ticket launching another new payment option
NFL Sunday Ticket launching another new payment option
The latest payment plan for NFL Sunday Ticket is the first that will allow customers to cancel their subscription mid-season.
It seems there’s no end of ways to pay to watch out-of-market football games via NFL Sunday Ticket in 2025. New customers can sign up for what YouTube TV is now calling the Season Pass, which splits payments over eight months and drops the price of those payments to $34.50 each, among other payment options. YouTube TV also announced that it was adding a new choice to the lineup, offering a different month-to-month payment option with one key benefit that no other Sunday Ticket plan offers.
Key Details:
- Not the cheapest: The new NFL Sunday Ticket payment plan costs $85 per month.
- Cancel anytime: Customers can cancel this NFL Sunday Ticket plan without having to pay for the rest of the season.
- Multiview mixup: Customers with YouTube TV will be able to watch multiviews with in-market and out-of-market games in them.
The newest NFL Sunday Ticket plan costs $85 per month for new viewers, or $115 per month for returning fans, and customers can make up to four payments; returning customers can bundle this option with YouTube TV for $145 per month. If you plan to keep NFL Sunday Ticket all season, this isn’t the cheapest way to go, as the total cost of doing so would be $340 if you’re a new subscriber, or $460 if you’re returning.
However, choosing this option will unlock a feature that no other NFL Sunday Ticket plan has: the ability to cancel mid-season and not have to pay for the rest of the year. Every other NFL Sunday Ticket subscription plan will charge you the full amount with no refunds, regardless of whether you want to cancel in the middle of the season or not.
This flexibility is a key step for football fans who may only need Sunday Ticket to watch out-of-market games for a week or two this season, or just until their favorite team is eliminated from playoff contention. NFL fans are still impatiently waiting for the product to start selling single-team passes, but this is still an important step in providing flexibility for Sunday Ticket, nonetheless.
Also new to NFL Sunday Ticket this year, subscribers who bundle their account with YouTube TV will be able to watch a combination of in-market and out-of-market games in their multiview for the first time. Viewers should note, this option will not be available to customers who subscribe to Sunday Ticket via YouTube TV’s Prime Time Channels a la carte option, as Sunday Ticket only shows out-of-market games.
Whether or not YouTube TV will have local Fox channels when the NFL season starts is a big question, as a carriage dispute between the two could threaten broadcasts. But that won’t have any effect on NFL Sunday Ticket, which is preparing for the 2025 season by launching a new subscription option for customers to consider.
