Paramount+ Announces Price Hikes Coming This Summer

Get ready to pay more for “Tulsa King,” “1883,” “Survivor,” “SpongeBob SquarePants,” and “Yellowjackets.” Paramount+ just announced it will increase its prices on August 20.

When the price hikes kick in, the ad-supported Paramount+ plan will go up $2 to $7.99/month. Subscribers who want Paramount+ with Showtime will pay another $1 to $12.99/month.

Importantly, existing subscribers will be able to dodge some of the pain. Current Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers won’t see the increase until the next bill after September 20. Existing ad-supported subscribers get to keep their price of $5.99/month. So if you think you might want the service, it’s worth jumping into a free trial now to see if it’s worth keeping at the lower rate.

What Can You Watch on Paramount+?

Paramount+ leans on the world of Taylor Sheridan with hits like “Mayor of Kingstown,” “Lawmen: Bass Reeves,” “Tulsa King,” “Lioness,” and spinoffs of “Yellowstone.”

Subscribers can enjoy almost all the biggest hits from BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Smithsonian Channel. If you don’t feel like choosing the on-demand experience, Paramount+ has a lineup of virtual channels that play endless reruns of shows like “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race” or “Beavis and Butt-head.”

Users also get to watch the NFL on CBS, and subscribers to the ad-free tier get 24/7 access to their live, local CBS affiliate.

For children, that Nickelodeon library is dynamite. You’ve got thousands of hours of “PAW Patrol,” “Spongebob Squarepants,” “Digby Dragon,” “Rugrats,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “Peppa Pig,” and much more.

If you upgrade to the tier with Showtime, you can see original series like “The Chi,” “Yellowjackets,” “Billions,” “American Gigolo,” “Dexter,” “George & Tammy,” “Your Honor,” “Homeland,” “Ray Donovan,” and “Shameless.”

The Showtime documentary library is worth a special mention, with titles like “The Comedy Store,” “Murder in the Bayou,” “The Reagans,” “Spector,” and “We Need to Talk About Cosby.”

For movies, Paramount+ offers great titles like “A Quiet Place,” “Interstellar,” “Beverly Hills Cop,” “Blazing Saddles,” “The Wolf of Wall Street,” “Mean Girls,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,” “Gladiator,” “The Big Short,” “Arrival,” “Titanic,” “School of Rock,” and the “Mission: Impossible” series.
