Your local bar can now show UEFA Champions League on Paramount+
A new deal between Paramount and EverPass Media is allowing soccer fans to watch UEFA Champions League matches at their favorite local watering hole.
UEFA Champions League soccer is one of the most-watched tournaments in European sports for a reason. It brings together the best teams from across the continent, making it one of the premium soccer events of the calendar year. Paramount+ has the rights to stream UEFA Champions League games in the United States, which means that until now, fans have had to watch from home or on their phones when on the go. That is changing, however, as Paramount has announced a deal with EverPass Media to distribute Champions League matches in commercial establishments.
Key Details:
- The deal covers all UEFA Champions League matches on Paramount+.
- EverPass is a commercial streaming service run by the NFL and RedBird Capital.
- It also distributes “Thursday Night Football” games, Peacock sporting events, and more.
The deal between EverPass and Paramount will allow all UEFA Champions League matches streaming on Paramount+ to be distributed to bars and restaurants that are EverPass customers. Fans will be able to watch Champions League games at these businesses for the first time thanks to this agreement.
“Paramount+ is the streaming home to UEFA men’s club competitions and we are always looking for ways to broaden the distribution and increase awareness for Paramount+ as well as maximize the audience for our UEFA Champions League coverage,” CBS Sports EVP Dan Weinberg said. “This partnership with EverPass unlocks a new viewership avenue and allows us to reach the many passionate fans watching out of home.”
EverPass Media is a streaming platform that bars, restaurants, hotels, and other businesses can access. It’s run by the NFL and RedBird Capital, and also distributes events like “Thursday Night Football” on Prime Video, as well as sports seen exclusively on Peacock commercially.
“We’re proud to expand EverPass Media’s portfolio with the Paramount+ stream of the UEFA Champions League, one of the most prestigious competitions in global sports,” EverPass CEO Alex Kaplan said. “This partnership with CBS Sports reinforces our mission to bring the world’s most sought-after live sports to commercial establishments, ensuring bars and restaurants can provide unparalleled viewing experiences for their patrons.”
It appears the deal only covers UEFA Champions League matches for now, but Paramount+ distributes other sporting events as well, including English Football League matches. Perhaps its new deal with EverPass will expand in the coming months and years to encompass more of Paramount+’s sports offerings.
