fuboTV Adds 4K Support to Apple TV, Roku, and Android

fuboTV has launched 4K HDR10 support on Apple TV, Roku, and Android, becoming the first Live TV Streaming Service to offer content in ultra-high definition and high dynamic range. This follows their 4K launch on Fire TV and Chromecast earlier this week.

ATEME, the emerging leader of video delivery infrastructure, provided the software to enable the 4K HDR encoding platform for fuboTV.

How to Stream 4K with fuboTV

To view ultra-high definition and high dynamic range content, subscribers must have a 4K HDR-enabled television, HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2 compatible cable and run the fuboTV app on a streaming device that supports the formats.

Bandwidth speeds of 30Mbps-40Mbps or higher are recommended. 4K HDR-capable TVs may also need calibration to present the content correctly.

Sling TV Adds REVOLT and Cinémoi Channels

Sling TV added REVOLT and Cinémoi to their service today. REVOLT brings hip-hop performances, music event coverage and more to Comedy Extra ($5/month). Cinémoi offers a variety of modern and classic films to Hollywood Extra customers ($5/month).

REVOLT

Founded by Sean Combs, REVOLT brings hip-hop culture to Sling TV and features live music performances, big events, breakout new artists and more. Plus, the channel offers an inside look into the latest news and happenings from leading hip-hop artists. Check out shows like “The Breakfast Club,” a morning talk show about the most outrageous headlines in entertainment and pop culture. REVOLT is available as a channel in our Comedy Extra add-on, available to Sling Orange and Sling Blue customers for $5 per month.

Cinémoi

From vintage to modern movies, live entertainment and documentaries, Cinémoi features a variety of programming. The channel also offers a special look into some of the most celebrated global events like the Cannes Film Festival, plus classic films like The Last Time I Saw Paris or more modern favorites like Four Sheets to the Wind. Cinémoi is available to Sling Orange and Sling Blue customers in our Hollywood Extra add-on for $5 per month.

DIRECTV NOW Launches Cloud DVR

AT&T announced today that DIRECTV NOW is launching its Cloud DVR today. The DIRECTV NOW apps will also have a new user interface and additional features.

Roku Celebrates 10 Years with Free Premium Content and Device Discounts

In celebration of ten years of TV streaming, Roku unlocked free content for Roku customers and is offering discounts on select streaming devices. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the first Roku player—the first device to stream Netflix on TVs.

fuboTV Adds Sports Illustrated and 5 Local Channels

Today, fuboTV added Sports Illustrated TV to its Sports Plus package. The Sports Plus package includes more than 15 channels and is available to subscribers for an additional $8.99.

NHL, NHLPA, and Hulu Announce Partnership

Hulu, National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA), and the National Hockey League (NHL) announced today a new partnership in which Hulu becomes an official sponsor of the NHLPA and the NHL for the entirety of the 2018 Stanley Cup® Playoffs and Final.

Hulu will create a custom hockey collection within the Hulu experience throughout the Playoffs helping drive tune-in for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. In addition, Hulu will serve as the presenting partner of NHL.com during the Playoffs.

As part of the agreement, Hulu has also partnered with the National Hockey League Players’ Association to create a number of video vignettes that will showcase some NHL stars and help drive awareness for Hulu as a streaming option for the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The collaboration with Hulu also includes integration within all NBC broadcasts with on-air presenting sponsorship of NBC Sports’ NHL Live pre-game show for the Stanley Cup Playoffs as well as integration within the broadcast opening.

Sling International Arrives on Comcast's Xfinity X1

The Sling International app launched on Comcast’s X1 platform, delivering more than 395 international networks to Comcast X1 customers.

Sling International offers multicultural content from different countries in 21 languages starting at $10 per month.

Available languages include Arabic, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Kannada, Punjabi, Urdu, Bangla, Bengali, Brazilian, French, Italian, German, Polish, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Taiwanese, Mandarin and English.

Existing Sling International customers can sign in with their Sling TV credentials by selecting the Sling International app from the featured or entertainment sections in the “Apps” menu or by simply saying “Sling International” into their X1 voice remote. New customers can sign up for a Sling International subscription right in the app on their compatible Comcast X1 set-top box.

fuboTV Adds The CW On Demand & Expands The CW, Fox, and CBS Markets

fuboTV added 8 local The CW stations, 7 local Fox stations, and 1 CBS station today.

Additionally, fuboTV also added Video On Demand support for The CW programming, even for fuboTV subscribers that don’t have access to live CW content. This access includes recent episodes of Riverdale, The Flash, Supernatural and more.
