Philo adds six new channels from Lionsgate and QVC

Philo adds six new channels from Lionsgate and QVC

As a cord-cutter since 2010, he’s spent over 15 years covering tech and streaming for sites like TechRadar, Tom’s Guide, and CrackBerry. He also has a soft spot for '80s movies.

One of my go-to streaming services, Philo, has added six new options to the existing lineup of over 100 free channels today. The ad-supported lineup doesn’t require a subscription and already gives viewers access to multiple genres across its live channels, including game shows, reality TV, comedy, drama, and more. The six new channels come from Lionsgate and the QVC Group and continue to broaden Philo’s FAST channel lineup. The channels are also included in the $28/month subscription package, which gives users 70+ top-rated TV channels, plus access to the entire AMC+ library.

What’s new

The new additions include five channels from Lionsgate and one from the QVC Group, spread across a few different genres. The new channels include:

  • 50 Cent Action: 50 Cent Action brings you high-octane movies and series, curated by 50 Cent himself, for the ultimate thrill ride.
  • Designated Survivor: Tom Kirkman, a low-level cabinet member, is unexpectedly catapulted to the presidency after a catastrophic attack during the State of the Union address kills everyone above him in the line of succession.
  • Lawless: Dive into the criminal underworld where justice is a game, and the stakes are high.
  • Nurse Jackie/Weeds: Dive into the chaotic, darkly witty worlds of suburban drug dealer Nancy Botwin and pill-popping nurse Jackie Peyton. Gritty, sharp, and addictively entertaining.
  • Tyler Perry’s Love Thy Neighbor: Tyler Perry’s feel-good sitcom set in a family-run diner, where outspoken Hattie Mae Love dishes out laughs, love, and life lessons.
  • The Big Dish: Get the 411 on all things QVC® and HSN® with The Big Dish Channel. It’s every shopper’s dream: a 24/7, curated channel where you can stream the hottest shows and brands from QVC and HSN, plus original series bursting with expert how-tos and inspiration from QVC+ and HSN+. Watch and shop more of your favorite fashion, home decor, beauty finds, and more or even discover your next special something.

These channels and over 100 others are all available free (though ad-supported) on Philo with no subscription required. Those looking for a bit more from this free streamer may opt to add their email to unlock additional benefits like unlimited 30-day DVR, channel favorites, and watch history. Philio is available on most streaming devices, including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, web browsers, and mobile apps.

Philo

Philo is a live TV streaming service designed for entertainment lovers, offering flexible ways to watch without the high price of traditional TV bundles. The service now features two paid plans — Essential and Bundle+ — alongside its existing free streaming offering, giving customers a range of options depending on how much live and premium content they want.

…

The Essential plan costs $25 per month and includes 70+ live TV channels focused on entertainment and lifestyle programming, such as AMC, HGTV, Hallmark Channel, Nickelodeon, and Food Network. Subscribers also get access to 120+ free streaming channels, more than 80,000 movies and shows on demand, and unlimited DVR with one-year storage. Essential also includes a 7-day free trial for new customers.

For viewers who want more premium content, Philo offers the Bundle+ plan for $33 per month (formerly the Philo Core plan). Bundle+ includes everything in Essential, plus ad-supported AMC+ and access to the HBO Max (Basic with Ads) app. Users can also access discovery+ content directly within the Philo app. While Bundle+ adds a full premium streaming bundle for just $8 more per month, it does not include a free trial.

The service is available on most major devices, including Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, smart TVs, mobile devices, and web browsers. In addition to its paid plans, Philo also offers a free ad-supported streaming experience, allowing users to explore content before deciding whether to upgrade to a live TV subscription.

While it doesn’t include local broadcast stations or sports networks like ESPN, FS1 or NBC Sports Network, Philo remains one of the most affordable live TV streaming options for entertainment-focused viewers. With a simple lineup, generous DVR storage, and a clear path from free streaming to live TV and premium bundles, Philo is an appealing choice for cord-cutters who want to keep costs down while still enjoying a wide range of popular programming.
