Philo announces addition of 7 new free channels
The additions add to an already-robust channel count for Philo and its free streaming companion.
Philo has not one, but two great services to offer customers. First, the streamer has a paid service that allows customers to watch top cable channels like A&E, AMC, Discovery, History, MTV, and more for $28 per month. It also offers a free streaming platform with more than 100 free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels, and customers of both services will be able to watch the seven new networks added to the streamer this week.
Key Details:
- Laughs aplenty: Philo is adding two comedy channels from Hartbeat.
- Lost in TV Land: The Land of the Lost channel is also joining Philo.
- Drama, Crime, and more: Viewers will find a wide range of other programming on Philo’s new channels.
The seven new channels being added to Philo this week will be available to customers of both its paid plan as well as its free viewers. The new selections include programming in several different categories, including conspiracy theories, sci-fi, comedy, and reality TV.
The additions start with LOL! Network, which comes from Kevin Hart’s production and entertainment company, Hartbeat. LOL! Network offers stand-up sketches, scripted and unscripted comedy series, animation, and more. Also from Hartbeat comes the LOL Stand-Up! Channel, which is exclusively dedicated to full sets from famed comedians like Nate Bargatze, Ms. Pat, and many more.
Next up comes the Nosey channel, which offers an around-the-clock stream of daytime reality shows like “Jerry Springer,” “The Steve Wilkos Show,” and more of that ilk.
The I (Almost) Got Away with It channel is dedicated to shows that include murderers, drug slingers, and criminals of every sort. They all have the same goal: avoid prison at any cost.
Land of the Lost is essentially a continuous playlist of Sid and Marty Krofft Pictures’ 1974 series that follows a family whisked through time to a land populated by dinosaurs, and forced to fight for its survival.
The final two channels debuting on Philo include the So…Real network, dedicated to lifestyle and reality content. Finally, Philo will present the Declassified channel, which focuses on conspiracies, catastrophes, ancient civilizations, and astounding feats of engineering.
You won’t even need an account to watch Philo’s free offering, but if you do, you’ll get to favorite channels for faster access, track your viewing history, and get unlimited 30-day DVR for most titles on the service. Upgrading to Philo’s paid account will get you a selection of top cable channels, AMC+ titles on-demand, and a lot more.
