The bottom: Nos. 28 to 21

The bottom portion of our list holds your least favorite Pixar outing — 2022’s “Lightyear” — as well as “Soul,” which was probably hampered by being released in theaters just days before the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020.

I thought “Lightyear” was great, not top-10 great, but good enough to stay out of dead last. “Onward,” which came in at No. 23 on our list, is a personal favorite that apparently not many others care for!

28. Lightyear (2022)

TBD

27. Turning Red (2022)

Joe must enlist help from the other souls-in-training, like 22, a soul who has spent eons in the You Seminar, in order to get back to Earth.

The middle: Nos. 20 to 11

The mid-tiers fared better than the bottom third but were still outshone by some brighter flicks. I’d put “Brave” in my top 10 all day, and “A Bug’s Life” holds a special place in my heart, but it’s understandable that these landed where they did.

Some oldies but goodies sit in the midrange here, but a big shock comes with 2024’s “Inside Out 2” only landing the No. 18 spot.

20. Luca (2021)

Top ten: Nos. 10 to 1

The studio’s most iconic films obviously landed in the top 10, with “Toy Story” — the one that started it all — solidly holding down the No. 1 spot.

No surprise comes with “Up” and “Finding Nemo” rounding out the top three, though it was a close call for third with “Monsters Inc.” narrowly missing the mark.

10. WALL-E (2008)
