‘Dexter: Original Sin’ drops episode names and release schedule
The series will release two episodes on Dec. 20, but will also take a one-week hiatus in January.
There’s no rush to release all episodes of “Dexter: Original Sin” on Paramount’s part. The company has decided not to binge-release the show but has instead opted for a weekly release pattern that will bring new episodes of the show to Paramount+ with SHOWTIME on Fridays. But will there be a new one every week? Find out the full schedule of episodes below!
Key Details:
- Two episodes of “Dexter: Original Sin” will become available on Dec. 20.
- The series will go on a one-week hiatus in January.
- Paramount is following through on a pledge to grow more series around its most popular IP.
The release schedule for “Dexter: Original Sin” isn’t quite as straightforward as the release pattern for other streaming series. The show debuted on Friday, Dec. 13 with a single episode, and one week later will put out two new ones. Most of the time, if a series is going to put out two episodes in a single week, it does so on its original premiere date.
Another interesting wrinkle for the “Dexter: Original Sin” calendar is a one-week hiatus that will see the show not release a new episode on Friday, Jan. 17. It will be back the following Friday, and every Friday until Feb. 14. Who wouldn’t want to spend Valentine’s Day with a serial killer?
“Dexter: Original Sin” is set in 1991 Miami and follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
The show is part of a strategy announced by Paramount nearly two years ago. The company wanted to make a concerted effort to craft more shows around its most successful franchises, following the pattern set by “Yellowstone” and its various prequels and spin-offs.
