Based on a social media post, it appears that as of Sept. 5, 2024, the price of the premium channel streaming service will be bumped up $1 from $9.99 to $10.99 per month. The increase comes less than a year since STARZ lowered its annual subscription price. STARZ – owned by Lionsgate - offers a solid range of original shows and top-quality movies, and unlike many other streaming services these days, remains ad-free.

Evidence of the price hike first appeared on Reddit, with a subscriber receiving an email detailing the price hike taking effect on Sept. 5. The timing makes sense with the upcoming release of the second part of Season 7 of the hit show, “Outlander.” The Streamable has reached out to STARZ to confirm the price hike, but as of the publication of this article, has not heard back.
In December 2023, Lionsgate announced a merger with a special-purpose acquisition company, spinning off its studio business into a new, publicly traded entity named Lionsgate Studios, valued at $4.6 billion. This move left STARZ as part of the original company and it has since released the horror show “Camp Pleasant Lake” and is planning to release the “Outlander” prequel, “Outlander: Blood of My Blood,” later this year.
