About Soap

Set in the idyllic, yet dramatically twisted, town of Dunn's River, Connecticut, Soap chronicles the farcical lives of two families from vastly different social strata. On one side, there are the Tates, an affluent family grappling with infidelity, identity crises, and a host of other upper-class anxieties. Contrasting them is the working-class Campbell family, dealing with their own unique brand of chaos, from extramarital affairs to unexpected pregnancies and beyond. Through a tapestry of interconnected storylines, Soap hilariously exposes the dark underbelly of suburban life, proving that no matter your wealth or status, everyone has their secrets and skeletons.

Cast and Characters

Soap was created by the comedic visionary Susan Harris. The cast features Katherine Helmond as Jessica Tate, the often-nave matriarch of the Tate family; Cathryn Damon as Mary Campbell, the long-suffering matriarch of the Campbell family; Richard Mulligan as Burt Campbell, Mary's husband, a man wrestling with his own identity; Robert Mandan as Chester Tate, Jessica's philandering husband; Billy Crystal as Jodie Dallas, one of the first openly gay characters on television; and Ted Wass as Danny Dallas, Jodie's brother, struggling with his own path in life. This ensemble cast brought these larger-than-life characters to vibrant, unforgettable life.

How to stream with ExpressVPN

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is an app that encrypts your internet connection and masks your IP address, allowing you to stream securely and bypass restrictions.

Why Use a VPN for Streaming?

- Bypass Geo-Restrictions: Many streaming services are geographically restricted. If you’re traveling outside the U.S., a VPN can make it appear as if you’re still in the country, giving you access to your subscriptions.
- Avoid ISP Throttling: Your internet provider might slow down your connection during high-bandwidth activities like streaming. A VPN encrypts your activity, preventing your ISP from throttling your speeds and ensuring a smooth, buffer-free experience.
- Increase Privacy: A VPN protects your data on non-secure public Wi-Fi networks by creating an encrypted tunnel, safeguarding your personal information while you stream.

How to get started with ExpressVPN:

- Sign Up: Purchase an ExpressVPN subscription.
- Download: Install the ExpressVPN app on your device.
- Connect: Open the app and connect to a server in the U.S.
- Stream: Log in to your streaming service and enjoy watching your favorite shows securely!
