About Yes Minister

Yes Minister is a satirical sitcom that places viewers directly in the chaotic office of Jim Hacker MP, a newly appointed UK Cabinet minister. Hacker's well-meaning intentions are constantly thwarted by the entrenched bureaucracy of the Civil Service and the ever-present political gamesmanship that defines Westminster. The series cleverly portrays the power struggles between elected officials, like Hacker, and the permanent government, highlighting the challenges of implementing policy and navigating the complex web of political alliances and rivalries. Watch as Hacker tries to make a difference but ends up entangled in the machinations of his own department.

Cast and Characters

Yes Minister was created by Jonathan Lynn and Antony Jay. The cast features Paul Eddington as the well-meaning but often naive Minister Jim Hacker, whose idealism clashes with the realities of political life. Nigel Hawthorne delivers a stellar performance as the cunning and manipulative Sir Humphrey Appleby, the Permanent Secretary, who expertly navigates the corridors of power and ensures the status quo remains intact. Derek Fowlds plays Bernard Woolley, Hacker's Principal Private Secretary, torn between his loyalty to the Minister and his understanding of the Civil Service.

How to stream with ExpressVPN

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is an app that encrypts your internet connection and masks your IP address, allowing you to stream securely and bypass restrictions.

Why Use a VPN for Streaming?

- Bypass Geo-Restrictions: Many streaming services are geographically restricted. If you’re traveling outside the U.S., a VPN can make it appear as if you’re still in the country, giving you access to your subscriptions.
- Avoid ISP Throttling: Your internet provider might slow down your connection during high-bandwidth activities like streaming. A VPN encrypts your activity, preventing your ISP from throttling your speeds and ensuring a smooth, buffer-free experience.
- Increase Privacy: A VPN protects your data on non-secure public Wi-Fi networks by creating an encrypted tunnel, safeguarding your personal information while you stream.

How to get started with ExpressVPN:

- Sign Up: Purchase an ExpressVPN subscription.
- Download: Install the ExpressVPN app on your device.
- Connect: Open the app and connect to a server in the U.S.
- Stream: Log in to your streaming service and enjoy watching your favorite shows securely!
