Sling joins Bango’s Digital Vending Machine to make bundling easier
Sling and its satellite counterpart DISH Network will soon be available as parts of larger bundles.
Bundles are still an excellent way to combine several streaming products in one package, then pay a discounted price for the whole. With streaming prices seemingly climbing out of control, having access to bundles is a good method of keeping costs down. Sling TV is already a good value in its own right, but on Thursday, it was announced that Sling had joined with Bango to become a part of its Digital Vending Machine, making it easier to bundle with other services.
Key Details:
- Don’t forget DISH!: DISH will join Sling TV in Bango’s DVM.
- Coming soon: Bango says a “popular football streaming service” will be available soon with Sling.
- Keep it all in one: Purchasing apps through the Digital Vending Machine keeps bills all in one place.
Both of EchoStar’s pay-TV services — DISH Network and Sling TV — are joining Bango’s Digital Vending Machine. The partnership is official now, and will soon see DISH and Sling TV become available as part of bundles in the DVM to help customers stream more and pay less.
Bango says that DISH will launch in a bundle with a “popular football streaming service” this year, but id did not specify which one. The DVM enables companies like Sling to offer more compelling bundles, with flexibility as well as the ability to add customers quickly.
“The Digital Vending Machine from Bango gives DISH the speed and flexibility to deliver in-demand content and services to our customers,” DISH Video Services VP Liz Riemersma said. Rapidly launching new offers and bundles is key to enhancing our customers’ experience, and Bango makes that seamless.”
Viewers will be able to use the DVM to add additional subscriptions to their DISH or Sling account, and keep them all on the same monthly DISH bill. It makes the purchase journey simpler, and keeps things easy for customers who don’t have to keep track of as many monthly invoices for entertainment.
“Subscription bundling is entering a new phase - one where personalization, variety, and flexibility are key to growth,” Bango CEO Paul Larbey said. “It’s exciting to see DISH and Sling moving quickly to meet this shift, using the Digital Vending Machine from Bango to power their subscription bundling and lay the groundwork for broader subscription strategies. We look forward to expanding our work together.”
