Sling adjusts short-term subscription Passes ahead of bowl season
Customers can sign up for a three-day subscription to Sling’s Orange package for the same price as its Weekend Pass.
While the college football regular season has ended, the postseason is just about to begin! Bowl season kicks off on Saturday, Dec. 13, and ahead of a series of busy weekends, Sling TV wants to give customers another cost-efficient way to stream all of the programming (sports or otherwise) available via its Orange plan. As announced on Wednesday, Sling TV is now offering a three-day Pass that allows viewers to stream everything available on its base Orange plan for three days consecutively at a great price.
Key Details:
- Sling for three: Sling is now offering a new three-day Pass.
- Same price: Customers essentially get a third day free with the new Pass, which costs $10.
- Multiple choice: Viewers can also pick from day, weekend, and weeklong Passes as well.
Sling TV’s new three-day Pass comes in at the same price as the Weekend Pass: $10 per viewing period. That means audiences essentially get the third day in the Pass for free, which is especially convenient for fans who want to watch college football games over the weekend, and keep their subscription through the conclusion of “Monday Night Football.” This move is part of a transition that Sling is undergoing with its Passes program. Initially, the live TV streaming service offered a Day Pass, a Weekend Pass, and a Week Pass. However, Sling is rebranding those offerings to a 1-Day Pass, 3-Day Pass, and 7-Day Pass.
These new offerings will essentially work the exact same way as the previous incarnations, with the exception of the 3-Day Pass. Instead of it just running from Friday to Sunday, it will be available for 72 hours, regardless of what day you start on, which is especially helpful when bowls start airing every day of the week around the holidays. Subscribe from a Monday through Wednesday period if you prefer, or any other stretch of the weekly calendar you want, with the 3-Day Pass from Sling and pay just $10 for the privilege.
“At Sling TV, our mission has always been to put the customer first by delivering TV your way, and that means listening when they tell us how we can be even better,” Sling TV SVP Seth Van Sickel said. “Our customers asked for more flexibility, saying they wanted to use their pass when they needed it, not when the calendar dictated. The new Sling TV 3-Day Pass lets subscribers decide exactly when their three days of live TV starts. This change is purely about enhancing consumer choice and ensuring Sling TV remains the leader in providing the most valuable and flexible viewing experience possible.”
The prices for all three versions of the Sling TV Passes will remain the same, with the 1-Day Pass running $5, the 3-Day Pass costing $10, and the 7-Day Pass remaining $15. These choices allow viewers to watch all the channels available with a Sling Orange subscription, including Disney Channel, ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, and more. What also makes these such user-friendly options is tha,t unlike all other live streaming plans, they do not auto-renew. So, whatever period of time you decide to subscribe for is all you will be billed for. You don’t have to worry about canceling before your Pass expires to make sure you aren’t charged for another month.
