Sling TV Partners With Max, Allowing Live TV Customers to Add Streamer and HBO
The new partnership includes access to an on-demand Max account, as well as several HBO linear channels.
Sling TV customers can now take their subscription to the max… literally! On Thursday, Sling announced that it was rolling out Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming service Max as a new add-on, which will let customers subscribe to the on-demand streaming app and get access to several HBO linear channels to supplement their cable channel bundle with even more entertainment.

- Sling is offering Max’s ad-free plan, but thus far subscribers cannot bundle service with an ad-supported subscription.
- The Max rollout includes access to eight total HBO linear channels.
- Viewers can also bundle Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, STARZ, and other premium channels/services with their Sling subscription.
Sling is offering customers the chance to sign up for Max’s Ad-Free plan, which normally costs $17 per month, however, new customers who bundle their services can save $5 off their Max plan monthly. Sling is not currently offering viewers the ability to subscribe to Max’s ad-supported plan as well; often, partnerships like this have a more difficult time sorting through how to split ad revenues for plans with commercials, but there’s nothing official to confirm that kind of difficulty in this case.
“Sling TV is committed to providing our customers with the ultimate choice and flexibility in entertainment and that only continues with this partnership,” DISH video services group president Gary Schanman said. “By adding Max to our lineup, we’re ensuring our subscribers have the power to watch what they want.”
Sling customers who sign up for Max will instantly get access to HBO original shows like “The Penguin,” “House of the Dragon,” the upcoming “Dune: Prophecy” and more, alongside popular shows from the Food Network, HGTV, Magnolia Network and other WBD-owned cable channels.
In addition to all of this on-demand content, customers who sign up for Max with Sling TV will get access to eight HBO linear channels: HBO East, HBO West, HBO 2, HBO Latino, HBO Family, HBO Zone, HBO Comedy, and HBO Signature.
The Max add-on joins other premium subscriptions available to bundle with Sling TV, including AMC+, Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, STARZ and others. Keeping all of these subscriptions on the same monthly bill is highly convenient, and allows customers to get the most value and entertainment from their subscriptions as possible.
