Sling TV launches new $20 Select package
Sling TV launches new $20 Select package
The plan comes with 10+ channels, and includes ABC, Fox, and NBC in some markets.
Sling TV really wants its customers to have as much choice as possible. Hard on the heels of last week’s launch of new Passes that allow audiences to watch Sling TV for a limited time, Sling is releasing a new channel plan called Select, which will feature a reduced channel selection in exchange for a price that’s less than half of its base plans.
Key Details:
- Smaller plan, smaller price: Sling TV Select costs $20.
- Raking it in: Sling Select carries FX, NFL Network, Fox News, and more.
- Select or Pass?: The launch of Select comes just days after the rollout of Sling TV Passes.
Sling’s new Select plan is now available to all customers in the United States. It costs just $20 per month, compared to the $46 per month you’ll pay for Sling Orange or Sling Blue. The package’s channel count is also reduced to 10+ networks instead of the usual 30+.
Channels in the Select package include Fox News, FS1, FX, Grit, Lifetime Movie Network, MeTV, National Geographic, and NFL Network, as well as Heroes & Icons and Vice. In select markets, customers will also get ABC, Fox, and NBC with their Select plan; customers who get two out of these three channels will see their monthly price rise by $5, and viewers in markets where all three are available with Sling will see a surcharge of $10 per month.
“Sling Select is perfect for customers who want a streamlined, cost-effective way to enjoy the channels they love,” Sling TV SVP Seth Van Sickel said. “With the freedom to choose what you watch and how much you pay, Sling continues to lead the way in TV that works for real people.”
Viewers can watch select 4K content on Fox and FS1 with the Sling Select plan at no extra cost, boosting the value of the package even more. In addition, customers can add a complement of Sling’s add-on plans, such as the Sports Extra or News Extra add-ons, to their Select package for even more customization.
The launch of Sling Select comes just days after Sling rolled out its new Passes program. Sling Passes allow customers to watch Sling TV’s Orange plan for as little as $5 per day, unlocking the big game on ESPN or the latest kids’ premiere on Disney Channel. Sling continues to work on ways to bring customers more choice and flexibility in their pay-TV shopping.
