Sling TV gives DVR Plus add-on a big upgrade to unlimited titles
For an additional $5 per month, Sling subscribers can now access unlimited DVR storage.
Sling TV wants to let you keep more of the titles you love. The live TV streaming service is already the least expensive option to stream top cable channels like AMC, ESPN, FX, Paramount Network, and many others, but until recently its DVR options have been somewhat limited. That’s changed in 2025, as The Streamable has confirmed that, at long last, Sling has started rolling out an unlimited DVR option for its subscribers.
Key Details
- Sling’s DVR Plus add-on now offers unlimited cloud DVR instead of 200 hours.
- The rollout of this upgrade should be complete by the end of January.
- Despite upping the number of storage hours, the price will remain $5 per month.
Sling TV normally comes with 50 hours’ worth of DVR storage on every base subscription plan starting at $46 per month. Previously, the streamer also offered a DVR Plus add-on, which provided customers with another 200 hours worth of space to record shows, sporting events, movies, and more.
However, earlier this month, the skinny bundle began upgrading its DVR Plus add-on to include unlimited storage space instead of a mere 200 hours. Sling is still implementing this change for some customers, but all subscribers should notice the difference by the end of January.
The unlimited DVR that will be available with Sling’s new DVR Plus add-on will have a nine-month expiration date built in. Viewers will be warned about titles they’ve recorded once they hit the eight-month mark, informing them how many days are left before that recording expires.
Formerly, Sling TV’s DVR Plus add-on allowing viewers to record up to 200 hours’ worth of video cost an additional $5 per month. The new DVR Plus will provide unlimited recording space at no additional charge.
Although Sling recently raised the price of its base channel packages from $40 per month to $46, it’s still one of our favorite ways to watch popular cable channels at a price much lower than other services. All customers will soon be able to enjoy unlimited DVR on the service as well, for an additional monthly fee.
