Something to Stream Every Day This Week; ‘Bel-Air,’ ‘Young Jedi Adventures,’ ‘Chimp Crazy’ Premieres, More
The dog days of summer continue, but relief is coming in the form of new TV shows and movies to stream!
There’s a distinct lack of holidays in the month of August. Labor Day is coming soon enough, but between July 4th and the first weekend of September, there is a noticeable dearth of federal holidays to give some hope that a three-day weekend is on the horizon.
This observation isn’t intended to bum any readers out; just the opposite in fact. While you try to slog your way through another week, I’ve got a brand-new list of TV shows and movie premieres coming to a streaming service near you, so you can fight off the burnout and take a much-deserved rest from your labors even in the middle of a week.
Monday, Aug. 12
‘Solar Opposites’ Season 5 Premiere | Hulu
A team of four aliens escapes their exploding home world only to crash land into a move-in-ready home in suburban America. They are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome, but in the Season 4 finale of the show they decide they’ve had enough of this two-bit berg and decide to depart forever.
How long is “forever,” exactly? Well, not to spoil the whole season in advance, but there’s a pretty good chance that Korvo and the gang won’t be gone from Earth for long. Their domestic adventures have just begun, even if the SilverCops are intent on ruining their good time…

‘100 Day Hotel Challenge’ Series Premiere | Max
HGTV’s winningest duo Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt, who were champions of “Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge” and Season 2 of “Rock the Block,” will now go head-to-head in the new beach renovation competition series “100 Day Hotel Challenge.”

‘Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures’ Season 2 Premiere | Disney+
Set during the High Republic, in “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” we follow Jedi younglings Kai, Lys, and Nubs as they are sent by Master Yoda to train at a Jedi temple on the beautiful world of Tenoo under the tutelage of Master Zia. Together, they blast off on adventures across Tenoo and throughout the galaxy aboard the Crimson Firehawk with ace pilot Nash and her droid, RJ-83!
In Season 2, the gang will be joined by Master Zia’s new padawan learner. Wes Vinik and his droid companion RO-M1 will bring a new dynamic to this close-knit bunch, but there’ll still be lots of time for adventures, new Force powers, and foiling the plans of new adversaries like the Ganguls.
