Stream ‘Scrubs’ Season 2, ‘War,’ ‘Lanterns’ finale, more this week
It’s a packed week of new TV show premieres, especially on HBO Max and Hulu.
The end of September and beginning of October were long considered peak TV season before streaming. With colder weather settling in, viewers are spending more time indoors, and that means more time to cozy up on the couch watching a new TV obsession. Streaming has largely thwarted the seasonality of new TV releases, but a large concentration of new releases still lands around this time of year. See which titles we recommend watching every day of the upcoming week if you’re overwhelmed with choice!
Something to stream every day this week

‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle’ premiere | Hulu, Netflix
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” follows Tanjiro Kamado, who must accompany an elite corps of master swordsmen into battle against Muzan’s top generals when they are pulled into the Infinity Castle. This ever-shifting, dimension-twisting labyrinth is Muzan’s playground, and his Upper Rank Demons will stop at nothing to defeat the Demon Slayer Corps.
First in the Demon Slayer Corps trilogy, this film has already become a global sensation. Earning more than $750 million at the global box office, it holds the record for being the highest-grossing R-rated animated film of all time, and now it’s available to stream in the U.S. on a service that’s more mainstream than its previous home of Crunchyroll.
Tuesday, Sept. 29
‘Miller Night Football’ documentary premiere | HBO Max
In 2026, it’s hard to imagine “Monday Night Football” not being enough of a draw in and of itself to pull massive ratings. But there was a time not so long ago when “MNF” felt the need to shake things up to attract a new audience. The result: hiring comedian Dennis Miller to call games on Monday night.
Now, fans who remember the curious case of football caller Dennis Miller can relive it all in “Miller Night Football,” the new documentary on HBO Max. The special will follow Miller’s rise and fall on “MNF” through the eyes and memories of Al Michaels, Dan Fouts, and Miller himself.

‘Lanterns’ Season 1 finale | HBO Max
It’s hard to believe Season 1 of “Lanterns” is over. Thus far, it’s been one of my favorite streams of the year, and has blended expert writing with just the right amount of DC lore to produce a show that’s action-packed, incredibly funny, and dense without being difficult to access for beginners.
Lanterns
- DIRECTV Entertainment + HBO
- $74.99 / month
- Hulu Live TV
- $89.99 / month
In the penultimate episode of “Lanterns,” John Stewart discovers that Hal Jordan has been murdered. Disinterring Jordan’s corpse, Stewart retrieves his Green Lantern ring and activates the “Halogram” backup program to help him bring about the season’s endgame — which will surely have something to do with recent prison escapee Sinestro.
