Something to Stream Every Day This Week; ‘The Bear’ S3 Premiere, ‘Interview with the Vampire S2 Finale, More
The end of June is a somewhat odd time of year. Technically summer just started, but for most in the United States summer weather has been an established fact for several weeks, and with the Fourth of July just around the corner it’s already nearly time to start thinking about such dreaded phrases as “back to school” and “election season.”
On the streaming front, however, times are fantastic. New seasons of “The Boys” and “House of the Dragon” are in full swing, and one of the most well-received shows in recent memory is coming back with new episodes this very week! When I wrote about Game 5 of this series in last week’s edition of this article, even I didn’t think the Oilers would mount a comeback of this nature. They were still down 3-1 at that point, and the likelihood that they’d complete their resurgence and force a Game 7 seemed incredibly remote.
But now, Panthers fans are sweating bullets, and it has nothing to do with the Florida heat at this time of year. Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky has been the team’s best player all season, but he’s looked tired and eminently beatable in recent games, and the Oilers arguably have the best hockey player in the world in Connor McDavid. Will the Oilers become the first Canadian NHL team to win the Stanley Cup in the past 30 years?

If you’ve followed this column, you know how excited I am to see where “The Bear” goes next. Last season, each crewmember of The Beef was forced to look at themselves and try to find their place in The Bear, the newest fine dining restaurant in Chicago, which has finally opened its doors.
Now, the team who worked so hard to bring The Bear into existence has to figure out how to actually make it a success. Chef Carmy Berzatto and his sous-chef Sydney Adamu want a Michelin star, but can they earn enough money to keep the doors open, or agree on how to format their menu in a way that constantly surprises guests? Will Carmy ever find a way to balance his personal life with his work?
