Happy anniversary to the Writers Guild of America strike! On May 2, 2023, Hollywood writers officially put their pencils down in an effort to bring compensation closer in line with the revenues generated by their movies and TV shows. A steadfast refusal by studios to engage with writers on some issues led the strike to be prolonged, and eventually, the Screen Actors Guild joined the work stoppage as well.
Fast forward to 2024, and many studios are still trying to get their production schedules back together. Fortunately, it looks to be smooth sailing for getting TV productions on track in 2024, and The Streamable has compiled its traditional list of new titles coming to TV and streaming every day this week to help you keep track of what’s coming back when.

“The Killing Kind” is based on Jane Casey’s best-selling book of the same name. Nobody understands the dark gap between justice and the law better than Ingrid Lewis. As a successful barrister, Ingrid is used to dealing with tricky clients, but she’s never represented anyone like John Webster.
Charming, good-looking, successful, and clever. Webster was accused of coercive control by an ex-girlfriend and in court Ingrid successfully defended him, winning the case. Following the trial, Ingrid got close to Webster, too close and when she tried to exit the relationship, he turned on her, and her world imploded. Now, just when she is rebuilding her life he suddenly reappears and tells her that someone is out to kill her and only he can protect her.

The intricate and often hilarious plot involves a fake movie production. If this scheme sounds ripe for wrong turns and screw-ups, that’s because it was; things go wrong in ways that even the most skeptical mind would never have imagined. Perhaps most unbelievably of all, the story is completely true. Well, mostly.
