Can You Watch Wimbledon on ESPN or ESPN+?

Yes, the ESPN family of networks is the home to the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open (three of tennis’ four Grand Slam tournaments) and has simultaneous coverage on ESPN+ as well. The streamer is a standalone app while ESPN is a channel carried by live TV streaming services, the latter of which have trials to cover you through most of Wimbledon for free. This year, in addition to offering simulcasts of every match in both the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s draws airing on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC, ESPN+ will also carry exclusive coverage from outer courts as well.

What is the best way to stream Wimbledon?

As you can see, there are five live-tv streaming providers who will cover the fortnight of action. Of those, we have two picks that you should consider above the others: Hulu + Live TV and Sling.

Our Top Pick: Hulu + Live TV

  • ABC, ESPN, The Tennis Channel, plus loads of entertainment channels
  • Disney Bundle included for free
  • Three-day free trial
  • Month-to-month billing (no annual contract)

Best Budget Pick: Sling TV

  • ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, but fewer entertainment channels
  • First month is only $20 for ESPN channels
  • Cheapest of all the live-streaming services
  • Month-to-month billing (no annual contract)

We’d rank the remaining services in the following order: DIRECTV STREAM, Fubo, and YouTube TV.

  • DIRECTV STREAM: DIRECTV STREAM is just on the outside of our top two recommendations. It is very similar to Hulu + Live TV, but doesn’t come with the Disney Bundle. No live TV streamer has as many top cable channels as DIRECTV, and it will deliver all of the channels needed to stream Wimbledon. It also comes with a five-day free trial so that you can test out the service before you commit to it.
  • Fubo: Fubo is already one of the most expensive live-streaming services for ESPN. But at least it has everything you need to watch all the matches and has multi-screen capabilities like DIRECTV STREAM. It also has a free trial period, but the length varies per person and situation.
  • YouTube TV: While YouTube carries ABC and ESPN, it doesn’t carry The Tennis Channel and you don’t get other perks like you would with Hulu + Live TV and it doesn’t offer a free trial. However, if you already pay for the service, you’ll at least get the major matches.
