“Black Mirror” Renewed at Netflix

The future is now for “Black Mirror.” The hit Netflix sci-fi series has received a Season 7 renewal after its much-anticipated return this year.

Created by Charlie Brooker, “Black Mirror” consists of standalone drama episodes “that tap into the collective unease about the modern world,” exploring technoparanoia and the “intended and unintended consequences of new technologies and the effect they have on society and individuals.” After a four-year hiatus, it returned for a sixth season this past June and reached the Top 10 in 92 countries’ viewing records.

Casting has yet to be announced for Season 7. The five-part Season 6 featured a host of A-listers, including Salma Hayek, Annie Murphy, Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, and Paapa Essiedu


Max Announces Holiday Collection

It’s the most wonderful time of the year at Max! The streamer’s Holiday Central collection is now live for the season, featuring a wide variety of holiday films, series, specials, and more. In addition to the classic comedy “Elf,” which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, viewers can streamer library films including “A Christmas Story,” “National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation,” “Meet Me in St. Louis,” and more, as well as fan-favorite holiday episodes from series such as “Abbott Elementary,” food series including “Holiday Baking Championship,” and a collection of seasonal Yule logs to make your home cozy during the cold months.

Max will also feature an interactive Advent calendar throughout December that will showcase different holiday programming on the platform each day until Christmas.


Paramount+ Releases “Born In Synanon” Trailer

Paramount+ has released the trailer for its upcoming documentary series “Born In Synanon,” premiering exclusively on the platform on Dec. 12.

Directed by Geeta Gandbhir (“Why We Hate”), the four-part series chronicles Cassidy Arkin’s journey to discover the truth about Synanon, the drug-and-alcohol treatment program-turned-experimental community that soon devolved into a full-blown cult. Born into Synanon with her earliest memories of a happy place with an extended family, Arkin’s personal experience stands in stark contrast to the abusive hierarchical society her peers vividly recall.

Arkin and her mother Sandra Rogers-Hare go on a quest to understand the nature of Synanon – both the good and the bad – reconnecting with former members, sharing deeply personal experiences, and revealing never-before-seen archival footage.


“A Very Demi Holiday Special” Celebrity Guests Announced

Demi Lovato is bringing holiday cheer to the Roku Channel this season with “A Very Demi Holiday Special,” and the celebrity guests for the special have finally been announced!

The Roku Original music and variety special will feature Lovato as she performs holiday hits and a selection of her own songs, joining her to help celebrate the holidays will be JoJo, Hailey Bieber, Rich Eisen, Tiffany Haddish, Paris Hilton, and Trixie Mattel

Apple TV+ Releases New “The Dynasty: New England Patriots” Teaser

Apple TV+ is tackling one of the most successful and controversial franchises in American sports with its upcoming “The Dynasty: New England Patriots,” and the streamer has released an all-new teaser for the highly anticipated 10-part documentary series.

Produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Documentaries and directed by Emmy winner Matthew Hamachek (“Tiger”), “The Dynasty: New England Patriots” will showcase the rise of the most dominant sports dynasty of the 21st century, the New England Patriots, bringing back together former quarterback Tom Brady, Coach Bill Belichick, owner Robert Kraft, and more former players, coaches, and executives to tell their stories.

The documentary, which is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Jeff Benedict, will also explore the franchise’s 20-year journey and the chemistry and controversy that fueled the team’s six Super Bowl wins, chronicled with thousands of hours of never-before-seen video footage and audio files from the Patriots’ archives.

Trailer Released for Season 2 of “The Envoys”

Paramount+’s “The Envoys” (“Los Enviados”) is headed for more thrilling discoveries as the Spanish-language series will return for a second season on Dec. 7, with all episodes premiering at once on the streamer globally.

Luis Gerardo Méndez and Miguel Ángel Silvestre lead the thriller as Priests Pedro Salinas and Simón Antequera, who, with their understanding of medicine, science, and law, are dedicated to investigating supposed miracles from around the world. In the second season, the two priests will delve into a web of mystery and murder in a Galician convent after three blind nuns bear witness to a supposed miracle.
