‘The Gilded Age’ renewed for Season 4
“(link: https://thestreamable.com/shows/the-gilded-age-2020 text: The Gilded Age” is continuing to build its audience. The show saw total premiere-night viewing grow five consecutive weeks in its third season, resulting in a 20% growth as compared to Season 2. That increase in viewership is likely a big reason that Warner Bros. Discovery has decided to bring the series back! On Monday, the company announced that it was renewing “The Gilded Age” for a fourth season, and we predict that you’ll be able to see it on HBO Max some time in late 2026 or early 2027.
‘Slow Horses’ loses showrunner Will Smith
“Slow Horses” is one of my favorite shows on Apple TV+, so I report this news with a bit of trepidation. As reported by Deadline on Tuesday, the dark comedy spy series is losing writer and executive producer Will Smith. Smith will depart the show after its fifth season, handing the reins to Gaby Chiappe and Ben Vanstone.
Smith has won awards for his work on the series, and his departure will no doubt give fans of the show some pause. “Slow Horses” has been renewed for a seventh season, and its fifth season reaches Apple TV+ in September.

Warner Bros. Discovery reveals more details about cable spinoff
Warner Bros. Discovery announced this summer that it was planning to split itself into two companies, spinning off its cable networks into a new firm. On Monday, the company revealed a bit more about that split. The company has decided to name the Streaming & Studios portion of WBD “Warner Bros.,” which will be under the direction of David Zaslav. Global Networks will henceforward be named “Discovery Global,” and will fall under the purview of Gunnar Wiedenfels. The division of WBD is expected to be completed some time in 2026.
