When will you be able to boot up ‘Street Fighter’ on streaming?
When will you be able to boot up ‘Street Fighter’ on streaming?
The video game adaptation might be blasting onto Paramount+ before you know it.
No need to bring a bag full of quarters to the movie theater this weekend to check out “Street Fighter.” The new movie adaptation of the beloved video game franchise is hitting cinemas in the United States on Friday, Oct. 16. While the new film might bring certain members of Gen X out to the theaters this weekend, if you would prefer to watch from the comfort of your own home, we break down when and where it will eventually be streaming.
Key Details:
- For the fans: Audiences are more entertained by “Street Fighter” than critics, thus far.
- To the mountaintop: Paramount is distributing the film, meaning it will stream on Paramount+.
- Quick attack: The movie probably won’t take 100 days to arrive on streaming.
When the enigmatic Chun-Li begins recruiting fighters for a new World Warrior Tournament, the call to combat becomes too loud to ignore for estranged street fighters Ken Masters and Ryu. But lurking behind the global battle royale is a deadly conspiracy that will force the pair to confront the shadows of their past.
Thus far, “Street Fighter” has been more well-liked by audiences who have watched preview screenings than it has by critics. The film has a 45% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes, but an 83% audience score. On Metacritic, the movie has a 45 (“Mixed or Average reviews”) critical score, but a 5.2 user score.

When will ‘Street Fighter’ stream at home?
If you’re anxious to get some friends together for a “Street Fighter” streaming party (and maybe a few rounds of the game after), we know for certain which streamer you’ll need to be subscribed to. Paramount is distributing the movie in the United States, which means it will stream on Paramount+ once it’s ready to leave theaters.
How long will it be before you can send the invite to the group chat? Paramount may be ramping up its theatrical windows; last year’s “Scary Movie” didn’t stream on Paramount+ until 90 days after its release, a full month later than I predicted it would.
“Street Fighter” could well follow suit. We’ll predict that it will stream on Paramount+ on Jan. 14, 2027, giving fans of the franchise a good reason to stay inside during what will be (for most in the U.S.) one of the coldest parts of the year.
