Xumo Play has limited subtitle choices available.

There are myriad free streaming services available today, all of which offer their own distinct flavors of free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels, as well as on-demand libraries that usually contain older titles. Xumo Play is one such free streamer, and comes installed on all Xumo TVs, but is also available to the general public.

We took a look at Xumo Play to see exactly what kind of subtitle options are available on the service. We’ll fill you in on those options here, so you’re prepared for whatever you come across on the streamer!

Everything you need to know about subtitles on Xumo Play

How to turn on subtitles with Xumo Play

It’s easy to watch your chosen title with subtitles on Xumo Play. All you have to do is start playback on the title you want to watch, then find the CC button in the control interface. Check the corners of the screen on your Xumo TV; on the Xumo Play mobile app, the button is in the top-right corner of the screen, and on the web it is found in the bottom-right corner.

Click it, then click the English subtitles option to turn on captions.

What languages are available on Xumo Play?

Xumo Play has limited subtitle options available. I tried five different on-demand titles on the service, and all of them came solely with English subtitles, and no other choices.

Can you adjust the appearance of subtitles on Xumo Play?

Yes, you can tweak the appearance of your captions on Xumo Play to suit whatever visual style you prefer. You can adjust the color, opacity, and size of the font on the streamer, as well as the font itself. You can also pick the character edge, edge color, background color, background opacity, window color, and window opacity on the service.

To adjust these settings, go back into the subtitles menu on the Xumo Play playback interface and click Settings.
