How does T-Mobile Fiber’s speed compare?

How does T-Mobile Fiber’s speed compare?

We’ll put T-Mobile Fiber plans side-by-side against the competition to show you how fast those plans really are.

Having wireless home internet used to be the most advanced way to get online, but these days, browsers can unlock incredibly fast speeds using fiber home internet plans. Internet companies are racing to build out fiber networks to bring these speeds to more customers as quickly as possible.

T-Mobile offers not one, but three Fiber plans for customers in eligible areas to choose from. But if you’re stuck choosing between T-Mobile and another provider’s fiber plan, we’ll stack them side by side so you can see each plan’s speeds and make an informed choice!

T-Mobile Fiber speeds versus the competition

Starting at $35/month with AutoPay. Plus taxes and fees.

T-Mobile Fiber plans offer fast, symmetrical internet speeds with no annual contracts or data caps. Monthly pricing includes professional installation and Wi-Fi equipment, making it a straightforward option for home internet service.

How many T-Mobile Fiber plans are there?

There are three T-Mobile Fiber plans for eligible customers to choose from. Each plan offers the same upload and download speeds, an included Wi-Fi gateway, unlimited data, T-Mobile Tuesdays perks, and a $10 AutoPay discount.

The Fiber 300 MBPS plan offers speeds up to 300 MBPS, starting at $45 per month with AutoPay, plus taxes and fees.

The Fiber 1 Gig plan ratchets the speed up to 1 gig, with all the features of the Fiber 300 MBPS plan. It costs $60 per month with AutoPay, plus taxes and fees.

Finally, the Fiber 2 Gig plan offers T-Mobile Fiber’s fastest speeds and strongest Wi-Fi. It runs $70 per month without AutoPay, plus taxes and fees.

Who are T-Mobile’s biggest competitors for Fiber?

T-Mobile Fiber has some competition in the market, to be sure. AT&T, Google, and Verizon are also working to build out their fiber internet capabilities and offer plans quite comparable to T-Mobile’s in terms of price.

Customers have to be wary about how these other companies advertise their starting price for fiber internet, as well. For example, Verizon Fios offers a starting price of $35 per month for its 300 Mbps plan, which at first glance seems comparable to T-Mobile Fiber’s 300 Mbps option. But once you dig a little deeper, you’ll realize that Verizon requires customers to bundle a mobile line with Fios to get that price; otherwise, the cost of its 300 Mbps plan is at least $50 per month. T-Mobile, on the other hand, does not require bundling with a mobile plan to get its lowest service prices.

AT&T can also get a little tricky with its fiber plan discounts for speeds equivalent to T-Mobile’s. For example, it also offers a 300 Mbps plan for $35 per month, with a $15-per-month discount for new customers’ first year. But after that year, the discount disappears, and your price for 300 Mbps from AT&T fiber can rise to $60 per month.

Who has the fastest fiber internet speeds?

AT&T, Google, Verizon, and T-Mobile all offer fiber internet plans with speeds up to 300 MBPS, 1 Gig, or 2 Gigs. So, since these companies offer equivalent speeds, choosing which to sign up for when picking a fiber internet plan will come down to price and features.

In our view, T-Mobile Fiber comes out on top when stacked up against other fiber home internet services. Compare them for yourself in the table below!
