Check out 3 Prime Big Deal Day discounts I’m taking advantage of
These are discounts on things I’ve been waiting to restock on, and Amazon came through big time with its Prime Big Deal Days event.
Are you struggling with deal FOMO a little bit, thanks to Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days? It’s certainly understandable if so; the platform has a wide range of great deals available on just about every type of product under the sun, from home essentials to auto care goods to electronics.
But The Streamable readers are probably here to learn about new tech deals, and I confess there were some offers from Amazon that I, as a Prime member, couldn’t pass up during this sales event. Check out the three deals I’m taking advantage of for Prime Big Deal Days this year.
Which Prime Big Deal Day offers did I opt for?
Sony WH-CH520 Wireless Headphones | Normally $70, now $38
I’ve had the same pair of over-ear Sony wireless headphones for nearly a decade, but they finally gave out on me this summer. But with that kind of longevity, I figured there was little reason to stray from the company to replace the headset, considering how much success I had with the last pair.
The Sony WH-CH520 headset promises battery life of up to 50 hours and quick charging via a USB-C port. A built-in microphone allows for calls as well as listening, and you can even find this headset quickly if it’s lost by sound or by checking its last known location in Google’s Find My Device app.
The headset is even available in six colors, and is a great low-cost option for shoppers who need a new wireless headset without a ton of bells and whistles. If it’s anything like my last Sony headset, I’m excited to get my hands on the WH-CH520.
INSIGNIA 40” Class F40 Series LED Full HD Smart Fire TV | $95, normally $150 (37% off)
This isn’t the biggest TV on sale by Amazon for Prime Big Deal Days; far from it. But it’s perfect for what I need — a TV I can play my new retro gaming collection on without having to see the resolution stretched beyond the point where those games are playable.
You see, I just picked up a Nintendo 64 and a GameCube. My newer TVs still have A/V hookups, so I was able to connect them without an adapter, but when I hooked them up I found that the sizes of my current sets — 70 inch and 55 inch — were too big for these old-school systems to handle. Thus, I jumped at the chance to grab this 40-inch Fire TV for under $100, which should help me play my old games and give me another set to stream on if needed.
Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite | $59, normally $90 (34% off)
I’ve never actually had any TV backlighting before, but after seeing the effect in action at a friend’s house I was instantly convinced. This Govee backlighting rig comes with a camera equipped with fisheye correction functionality to better sync the backlighting colors with the colors on your screen, and fits TVs from 55 to 65 inches.
You can control this backlighting strip via the Govee Home app, or you can use simple voice commands to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to control it if you prefer. It works while you’re watching videos online, streaming, or even gaming, creating a more immersive viewing experience that I’m excited to try in my own home.
