Based on the true story of social psychologist Stanley Milgram, the film focuses on the 1961 behavior experiments at Yale University that tested the willingness of ordinary humans to obey an authority figure while administering electric shocks to strangers, as well as the aftermath of the experiments and the public outcry of their ethics. Peter Sarsgaard leads the cast as Milgrim opposite Winona Ryder, Taryn Manning, Kellan Lutz, Anton Yelchin, John Leguizamo, Lori Singer, Dennis Haysbert, Anthony Edwards, and Jim Gaffigan.

Director Steven Shainberg and screenwriter Erin Cressida Wilson mix business and pleasure in “Secretary,” an adaptation of Mary Gaitskill’s short story. James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal star as a dominant lawyer and his submissive secretary in the erotic dramedy, making “very dull work” worth the suffering.

“Tucker & Dale vs. Evil” | Sunday, Oct. 1
The black comedy horror comes to Plex to kickoff Halloween month. Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk lead the cast as a pair of well-meaning hillbillies who have just bought the vacation house of their dreams (a rundown cabin in the West Virginia woods) and are mistaken for vicious killers by a group of clueless college kids while on a camping trip. Katrina Bowden, Jesse Moss, Chelan Simmons, Brandon Jay McLaren, Christie Laing, Travis Nelson, Alex Arsenault, Adam Beauchesne, Joseph Allan Sutherland, and Philip Granger make up rest of the cast of the splatstick comedy with heart.

Starring Lee Byung-hun and Choi Min-sik, the critically acclaimed South Korean action-thriller follows NIS agent Kim Soo-hyun (Lee) on a path for revenge after his wife is brutally murdered by the psychopathic serial killer Jang Kyung-chul (Choi).
