What are the 5 Best Shows and Movies Leaving Hulu in February 2024?
“Lucky” | Thursday, Feb. 1
Accomplished character actor Harry Dean Stanton stars in the drama, one of his final on-screen roles before his death at the age of 91, as, fittingly, a 90-year-old on the hunt for ever-elusive enlightenment as he comes to terms with his own mortality. David Lynch, Ron Livingston, Tom Skerritt, Ed Begley Jr., James Darren, Beth Grant, Yvonne Huff, and more make up the supporting cast of the acclaimed film, which, like Stanton himself, made many best-of lists.

“Edge of Tomorrow” | Tuesday, Feb. 6
Whether known as “Edge of Tomorrow” or “Live. Die. Repeat.,” Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt lead the cast of the sci-fi action film, which is set in a future where Earth has fallen under attack from invincible aliens. Cruise plays Major William Cage, a public relations officer with limited combat experience who is thrown into a time loop to relive the same brutal fight—-and death—-over and over again. Each time, his skills improve, though, bringing him and Sergeant Rita Vrataski (Blunt) closer to victory. Bill Paxton and Brendan Gleeson also appear in supporting roles.

“Pusher” Film Series | Wednesday, Feb. 28
The highly rated film trilogy from Nicolas Winding Refn dives deeper and deeper into the Danish criminal underworld with Kim Bodnia’s Frank, a mid-level drug dealer who becomes indebted to his supplier (Zlatko Burić), at the center of the first film. Mads Mikkelsen (who made his feature film debut in the first film) and Burić lead the second and third installments, respectively, with Laura Drasbæk, Slavko Labović, Leif Sylvester, Anne Sørensen, Øyvind Hagen-Traberg, Marinela Dekić, Ilyas Agac, Vasilije Bojičić, and others making up the casts of the rest of the international franchise.

“Beasts Of The Southern Wild” | Thursday, Feb. 29
Quvenzhané Wallis makes her debut in the fantasy-drama as six-year-old Hushpuppy, who lives with her father (Dwight Henry) in a remote Delta community. When Wink falls mysteriously ill, the world begins to fall apart as temperatures rise, ice caps melt, prehistoric beasts run loose, and Hushpuppy must go on an odyssey in the increasingly dangerous world to find her long-lost mother. The four-time Oscar nominee made nine-year-old Wallis the youngest Best Actress nominee in history.

“District 9” | Thursday, Feb. 29
2009’s “District 9” became an unlikely award season darling, one of the first sci-fi films out of many at the time that was both critically and financially successful. The alternate history story begins in 1982 when an alien spaceship appears over Johannesburg, South Africa, to find refuge from their dying planet and are quickly separated from humans but managed and monitored by a weapons manufacturer looking to master their advanced technology. When a field agent for the manufacturer contracts a mysterious illness that alters his DNA, only the aliens’ District 9 provides refuge. Sharlto Copley leads the cast opposite Jason Cope, David James, Vanessa Haywood, Mandla Gaduka, Eugene Wanangwa Khumbanyiwa, and more.
