The best movies on Disney+ include Pixar, Spider-Man and more

From ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ to ‘Hoppers,’ these are the Disney+ movies worth moving to the top of your list.

Here are the best movies streaming on Disney+ as of June, 2026

Disney+ is one of those streamers where I always think I know exactly what I’m getting, and then I scroll around and remember how wide the movie library actually is. Yes, there are giant classic Disney movies, but there are also superhero crowd-pleasers, sci-fi epics, random specials, and animated movies that hit harder than you expect. So if it’s movie night at your house as often as it is at mine and you need something to watch, here are my picks for the top seven movies streaming on Disney+ right now.

Top 7 movies streaming on Disney+ right now:

No. 7: ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021) | Superhero adventure

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” is finally on Disney+, which makes this the easiest Marvel rewatch decision on the platform right now. The movie picks up after Peter Parker’s secret identity gets exposed, wrecking his life and dragging MJ, Ned, and Aunt May into the fallout. So Peter goes to Doctor Strange for help, and because this is Peter Parker we’re talking about, the fix only makes things much, much worse.

What follows is full-on multiverse chaos, with villains from past “Spider-Man” movies crashing into Peter’s world and forcing him to grow up fast. The reason this one hit so hard wasn’t just the cameos or the giant action scenes, though those obviously ruled. It’s that “No Way Home” takes everything fun about Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and then pushes him through a brutal coming-of-age story. It’s huge, emotional, and still one of the best superhero crowd-pleasers Marvel has pulled off.

When Spider-Man’s secret identity is revealed, Peter Parker asks Doctor Strange to help him regain his anonymity with a magic spell. But when the spell goes wrong, Spider-Man faces a battle against a rogue’s gallery from his past. As the emotional toll grows, Peter must face the most difficult choice of his life.

The film is a delight for anyone who’s followed the Spider-saga since its cinematic beginnings. Be sure to watch the original “Spider-Man” series with Tobey Maguire and the “Amazing Spider-Man” series with Andrew Garfield to fully appreciate this crowd-pleaser.

No. 6: ‘Toy Story 4’ (2019) | Animated comedy

I’ll be honest, I did not need “Toy Story 4” to exist after “Toy Story 3” basically destroyed everyone emotionally and walked away with a perfect ending. But now that “Toy Story 5” is in theaters and doing monster numbers, it’s the perfect time to go back and revisit the last chapter before this new one.

The nice surprise is that “Toy Story 4” actually deserves to exist. Woody is living with Bonnie, but he’s not really her favorite toy anymore. Then Bonnie creates Forky, a spork who thinks he belongs in the trash, and Woody suddenly has a new mission. Keep Forky safe, keep Bonnie happy, and maybe avoid a full identity crisis. It’s funny and weird, but it’s also surprisingly grown-up about purpose. If you’re planning to see “Toy Story 5” in theaters (like the rest of humanity), start by watching this one first.

Toy Story 4

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world, devoted to taking care of his kid—whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But after Bonnie creates a reluctant new toy called “Forky”, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends challenges everything Woody believes about loyalty, purpose, and what it truly means to be a toy.

No. 5: ‘Lilo & Stitch’ (2025) | Family sci-fi comedy

“Lilo & Stitch” is exactly the kind of movie Disney+ was built for. It’s familiar, cute, chaotic, and very easy to throw on when you want something the whole house can watch. The live-action remake brings the story back to Hawaii, where Lilo, a lonely and imaginative little girl, adopts what she thinks is a dog. What she actually gets is Stitch, a genetically engineered alien built for destruction.

The movie works because the heart of the original story is still there. Lilo is trying to hold onto her family with her older sister Nani, Stitch is learning he can be more than the chaos he was created to be, and the whole thing keeps coming back to “ohana” without getting too heavy. It’s silly, sweet, and built around one of Disney’s most lovable little disasters. Plus, after doing more than $1 billion at the global box office, it’s clearly the Disney remake people actually showed up for.

The wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family.

No. 4: ‘Zootopia 2’ (2025) | Animated buddy-cop comedy

“Zootopia 2” brings Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde back together for another case, and that alone is enough to make it an easy Disney+ pick. This time, the mystery sends them undercover into new corners of Zootopia, where their partnership gets tested in ways they did not exactly sign up for. The movie also introduces Gary De’Snake, a mysterious reptile voiced by Ke Huy Quan, which gives the city a new wrinkle after the first movie focused mostly on mammals.

What makes this one work is pretty simple: Judy and Nick are still a great team. The sequel keeps the buddy-cop energy, the quick jokes, and the big colorful world, while expanding Zootopia just enough to make it feel fresh again. If you missed it in theaters, now’s the time to catch up at home.

Zootopia 2

November 26, 2025

After cracking the biggest case in Zootopia’s history, rookie cops Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find themselves on the twisting trail of a great mystery when Gary De’Snake arrives and turns the animal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before.

No. 3: ‘Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition’ (2026) | Animated comedy special

Okay, so “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition” is not exactly a traditional movie, but it’s a Disney+ special, it runs close to feature-ish length, and the premise is very funny. Marge gets fed up with Homer after he leaves the kids unsupervised and basically tries to parent through a doorbell camera.

From there, Marge starts imagining different versions of Homer, which turns into a trilogy of fantasy stories about what her husband could be if he were, let’s say, slightly less Homer. That’s a great “The Simpsons” setup because the show has always been good at bending reality without fully breaking it. Instead of remodeling a house, this special is remodeling Homer. Dumb? Yes. But in the right way.

Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition

June 17, 2026

Homer and Marge’s fun couples’ date night goes off the rails when Marge learns Homer left the kids unsupervised with only the doorbell camera as a babysitter. Frustrated with her imperfect husband, a tipsy Marge stirs up a trilogy of fantasies of a different Homer.

No. 2: ‘Hoppers’ (2026) | Animated sci-fi comedy

Tara and I watched “Hoppers” recently at home, and honestly, it kind of knocked us out. The movie follows Mabel, a young animal lover who uses experimental technology to transfer her mind into a robotic beaver. That is an insane sentence, but it’s also the exact kind of Pixar idea that takes advantage of animation.

Once Mabel gets inside the animal world, the movie becomes a funny, strange, sweet story about disappearing wildlife, threatened habitats, and the way humans mess with nature without noticing what they’re wrecking. It feels playful instead of formulaic, with animal chaos, big laughs, and the heart you want from Pixar when it’s working. Tara and I aren’t even huge animated-movie people, but this one may be converting us.

Hoppers

March 4, 2026

Scientists have discovered how to ‘hop’ human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals. Animal lover Mabel seizes an opportunity to use the technology, uncovering mysteries within the animal world beyond anything she could have imagined.

No. 1: ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ (2025) | Sci-fi adventure

I still remember seeing “Avatar” in theaters and thinking, okay, James Cameron is just operating on a different level than everybody else. More than 15 years later, he’s still doing it. “Avatar: Fire and Ash” brings us back to Jake Sully, Neytiri, and the Sully family as they’re still carrying the grief from “Avatar: The Way of Water” and trying to stop their family from losing even more.

This time, the story pushes into a harsher corner of Pandora with the Ash People, a new Na’vi clan whose world has been damaged and whose anger gives the movie a darker edge. Yes, the landscapes are impossible. Yes, the flying creatures and action scenes are ridiculous in the best way. But the reason this works as the No. 1 pick is that the Sully family is still the center. The movie is massive, but the emotional engine is simple: parents trying to protect their kids in a world that keeps getting more dangerous. Give me all of it.

Avatar: Fire and Ash

December 17, 2025

In the wake of the devastating war against the RDA and the loss of their eldest son, Jake Sully and Neytiri face a new threat on Pandora: the Ash People, a violent and power-hungry Na’vi tribe led by the ruthless Varang. Jake’s family must fight for their survival and the future of Pandora in a conflict that pushes them to their emotional and physical limits.
