Top 7 TV Shows Streaming on Apple TV Right Now:

No. 7: Pachinko (2022) | Family Drama

With episodes of its second season still dropping, the stunning saga, “Pachinko” follows four generations of a Korean family, with storylines spanning Korea, Japan, and America – all fueled by forbidden love. Based on the novel by Min Jin Lee, the series gives an intimate portrait of the family’s struggles from 1915 to 1989, specifically the discrimination of Korean immigrants in Japanese society. If you’re looking for a family drama that spans the globe, it’s hard to do better than “Pachinko.”

“Pachinko” boasts an incredible 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It stars Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Min-ho, Jin Ha, and Minha Kim, it is created by Soo Hugh.

No. 6: The Morning Show (2019) | Workplace Drama

How could you not enjoy Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon in the same TV show? In addition to excellent all-around performances, there’s a lot to like in “The Morning Show” – which chronicles the behind-the-scenes world of morning television. Not only is the show packed full of high-stakes power struggles, but it also doesn’t shy away from tough topics like the #MeToo movement, the pandemic, and the events of January 6. Billy Crudup is particularly fun as the fast-talking, forward-thinking Cory Ellison – president of the show’s fictional news network, UBA.

“The Morning Show” carries a 67% score on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s created by Jay Carson and Kerry Ehrin, and stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass.

No. 5: Sunny (2024) | Mystery-Thriller

A missing husband & son, a domestic robot maid (with a very Sunny disposition) from her husband’s company, and an American woman in Japan trying to uncover what happened to her family. That’s what you get in the (murder?) mystery series, “Sunny,” starring Rashida Jones. Not only is “Sunny” a visual delight, giving you a beautifully rendered look at Japan, but it deals with themes we’re all struggling with right now – how technology is upheaving life as we known it.

“Sunny” has a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and stars Rashida Jones, Hidetoshi Nishijima, and Joanna Sotomura (as Sunny). It’s created by Katie Robbins.

No. 4: Presumed Innocent (2024) | Crime Drama

My personal favorite on this list, “Presumed Innocent,” follows prosecutor Rusty Sabich (Jake Gyllenhaal) who’s accused of murdering a colleague. Though this is the third rendition of this story – with the book and movie staring Harrison Ford preceding it – the TV show still delivers. From secret affairs to wild plot turns and cliffhanger endings, this series is seriously bingable with great performances to boot. And like every truly great show, it’s about something we can all relate to… a family fighting to stay together.

The series stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Ruth Negga, Renate Reinsve, and Peter Sarsgaard. It’s created by David E. Kelley and has a 78% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

No. 3: Ted Lasso (2020) | Sports Comedy-Drama

Just because it’s “old news” doesn’t make it any less great. The feel-good comedy, “Ted Lasso,” follows an American football coach who’s hired to manage an English soccer team, despite having no experience or knowledge of the game. The series has made international stars of Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple, while vaulting Jason Sudeikis’ Ted Lasso character to the height of pop culture. The show is heartfelt, funny, and optimistic – as Ted always finds a way to keep believing in the goodness of the world. And after you watch “Ted Lasso,” you’ll believe too.

“Ted Lasso” rocks a 90% Rotten Tomatoes score, and stars Jason Sudeikis, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Juno Temple. It’s created by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt, and Joe Kelly.

No. 2: Slow Horses (2022) | Spy Thriller

Gary Oldman is back for Season 4 of “Slow Horses,” which follows a group of dysfunctional MI5 agents relegated to a dead-end department called Slough House after making career-ending mistakes. Led by the rough Jackson Lamb, this team of rejects digs into England’s espionage world to protect it at all costs. The dialogue is snappy and witty, the characters gritty and cynical as the show explores the question: what does it mean to be a hero?

“Slow Horses” stars Gary Oldman, Jack Lowden, and Kristin Scott Thomas. It’s written by Will Smith, Morwenna Banks, Mark Denton, and Jonny Stockwood, holding an impressive 98% Rotten Tomatoes score.

No. 1: Bad Monkey (2024) | Black Comedy Murder Mystery

The always-funny, fast-talking Vince Vaughn is back in his element – this time in the perfect TV show for his shtick – with “Bad Monkey” at the top of our list. Set in the Florida Keys, “Bad Monkey” follows Andrew Yancy, a former Miami detective who discovers a severed arm from a body unknown. The bizarre case propels him into a web of corruption and danger, all while maintaining the classic Vince Vaughn persona that made him one of the world’s biggest comedy stars. Anyone questioning whether the actor still has it will be put to bed when they watch this funny, entertaining, well-performed murder mystery. Oh - and the gorgeous footage of the always-sunny Florida Keys will have you adding flight price alerts in no time for a trip south.

Created by Bill Lawrence, the series stars Vince Vaughn, Natalie Martinez, Rob Delaney, Ronald Peet, and Meredith Hanger, while rocking a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
