Tubi doubles down on creator content; adds MrBeast, Jomboy Media, more

As more and more younger viewers turn to social and creator-led media, Tubi is looking to become the free streamer for the digital generation.

With a background in sports and entertainment reporting, he’s covered everything from Broadway to college football. He cut the cord in 2014 and has a sharp eye for streaming trends and a soft spot for Hallmark movies.

Tubi is making a big bet that the next wave of streaming hits will come from the internet’s biggest stars. On Thursday, the Fox-owned, free, ad-supported streaming service announced that it is now home to more than 5,000 episodes of digital-first creator programming, thanks to fresh partnerships with heavy-hitters like MrBeast, Jomboy Media, Alan’s Universe, CelinaSpookyBoo, and Steven He.

Key Details:

  • Inside the vault: Tubi is adding over 5,000 episodes from some of the biggest content creators on the internet.
  • What’s next: This move is “just the beginning” in Tubi’s efforts to bridge the gap between social and streaming platforms.
  • Welcome to the team: The streamer has also named former TikTok exec Kudzi Chikumbu as its new VP of creative partnerships.

As younger generations migrate away from traditional TV and consume more and more short-form and creator-led content, studio-owned streaming services have been slow to adapt. However, Fox is hoping that its free streamer can draw attention away from YouTube, TikTok, and other social-posting platforms. To do that, Tubi is not only bringing in some of the biggest creators on the internet, but the service is also bringing in an executive who knows how to make stars out of those creators.

Tubi also announced on Thursday that it has tapped Kudzi Chikumbu to be its new VP of creator partnerships. Chikumbu previously served as the global head of creator marketing at TikTok. If Tubi is serious about creator content, hiring Kudzi Chikumbu is a power move. At TikTok, he helped build the platform’s global creator ecosystem, overseeing partnerships, product marketing, and big experiential activations. He’s been recognized on Fortune’s 40 Under 40, Variety’s Hollywood’s New Leaders, and more.

“I’m thrilled to join Tubi at a time when creators are redefining entertainment,” Chikumbu said. “Tubi’s dedication to empowering creators with creative freedom and audience reach is unmatched.”

His role will be to work alongside Tubi GM of creator programs Rich Bloom to bring more “bold, authentic storytelling” to Tubi — and, if the company’s hints are right, even help fund new projects. TikTok has seen nearly exponential growth in recent years, thanks in part to a growing list of creators who went from being social media influencers to worldwide stars.

“We’re committed to building a bridge to Hollywood for creators to help them reach new audiences,” Bloom said. “These 5,000 episodes are just the beginning.”

Who’s Coming to Tubi — and What They’re Bringing

Tubi says its creator-led content is designed for its younger, multicultural audience, covering everything from sports to horror to comedy. With over 100 million monthly active users, Tubi is hoping to become a destination for a new generation of streamers. The new deals span some of the most recognizable names in online entertainment.

  • MrBeast (Jimmy Donaldson): The YouTube juggernaut will bring Seasons 6–8 of his channel to Tubi, covering 2023–2025 releases. These are the massive, big-budget stunt videos and philanthropic challenges that made him one of the most-subscribed creators on the planet — 421 million YouTube subs and nearly a billion followers total. The new content joins Tubi’s 24/7 MrBeast live channel that launched in 2023.

  • Jomboy Media: Co-founders Jimmy O’Brien and Jake Storiale built one of the internet’s most passionate sports communities through their signature mix of storytelling, humor, and deep baseball love. With recent, official MLB backing and a fan base of 30 million, Jomboy’s “Talkin’ Baseball” and “Talkin’ Yanks” will now stream on Tubi.

  • Alan’s Universe (Alan Chikin Chow): Known for viral sketch comedy with heart, Alan has racked up 90 million subscribers and 50 billion views across social posting platforms. His series brings high-energy, feel-good action-comedy to Tubi, where “doing the right thing” is always the biggest adventure.

  • CelinaSpookyBoo (Celina Myers): What started as “the sleepwalking girl on TikTok” has become a multi-hyphenate career in writing, acting, podcasting, and film. Her spooky long-form series — fresh off her nationwide theatrical debut “House on Eden” — will land on Tubi alongside her other creative projects.

  • Steven He: With 13 million subscribers and 4 billion views, Steven’s comedy sketches often hit YouTube’s trending page, and his “emotional damage” meme went global. His new series “Fish Bowl” will premiere on Tubi.

This move is a clear sign that Tubi isn’t just chasing larger, more traditional Hollywood studios — it’s now got its sights set on YouTube, TikTok, and Twitch as well. By stacking its library with creator-led series, sports talk, sketch comedy, and long-form storytelling — and bringing in a high-profile exec from TikTok — the platform is betting it can be the go-to free streaming service for the digital generation. If it works, don’t be surprised if your favorite creator’s next big series doesn’t drop on YouTube first… but on Tubi.
