Will Disney+ let you turn off autoplay?

If you don’t need to play the next episode automatically or see trailers on title detail pages with Disney+, we’ll show you how to disable the settings.

Disney+ does allow you to toggle autoplay on or off at will.

Perhaps you’re looking to just watch a single episode of “The Simpsons” or “Star Wars Rebels,” or you don’t want to see a trailer for your chosen title start playing in the background when you click onto a title’s landing page on Disney+. Whatever the case, most viewers these days prefer to choose whether autoplay is enabled on their TV or not.

You may not see the option to adjust this setting immediately available on your Disney+ interface, however. If you need to know more about turning off autoplay on Disney+, you have come to the right place!

Everything you need to know about turning off autoplay on Disney+

Does Disney+ let you turn off autoplay?

Yes! While Disney+ does automatically enable autoplay to skip to the next episode while you’re watching a TV series, as well as to play background videos when you open a show or movie’s details page, you can turn these settings off if you prefer.

How do you turn off autoplay on Disney+?

For best results in turning off autoplay on Disney+, you’ll want to use your computer. Go to the Disney+ website, log in, and locate your profile icon in the top-right corner. Select Edit profiles, then click the small pencil icon of the profile you wish to adjust autoplay settings for.

Once you’ve done this, scroll down until you see the Playback and Language Settings section. This is where you can disable autoplay if you like; you have the option to turn off background videos on show detail pages, or to turn off autoplay of the next episode in a series.

Will turning off autoplay on Disney+ affect all devices?

Yes, when I turned off autoplay on Disney+ on my computer, it also affected my Disney+ account on my Amazon Fire TV. This may vary from device to device, so check across your Disney+-watching devices to ensure that your autoplay settings are as you want them.

Can you turn autoplay back on with Disney+?

Definitely, it’s just as easy to turn autoplay back on as it is to turn it off with a Disney+ subscription; simply hop back on your laptop or desktop and adjust the settings until they’re perfect for your viewing needs. You can also adjust autoplay settings from profile to profile, so everyone in your family can watch any way they like.
