Does Paramount+ force you to use its autoplay setting?

Does Paramount+ force you to use its autoplay setting?

Paramount+ doesn’t have the same autoplay settings as other streaming services. Can you still adjust those settings?

Known for breaking major streaming stories, he’s covered everything from Netflix policy shifts to Peacock’s ad-tier changes. A sci-fi fan and Toshiba Fire TV user, he brings sharp analysis and a love for the genre to his reporting.

Paramount+ is an intriguing mix of bargain and premium streaming services. The $8 starting price for the ad-supported plan is very budget-friendly, but also has live NFL games on Sundays, and the Premium plan comes with even more high-end features like 4K streaming on select titles and a live stream of CBS.

The service also doesn’t have quite the same autoplay settings as other streaming platforms. Does it still allow you to turn off autoplay, or are you stuck using it even if you just wanted to watch a single episode of a TV show? We’ll get into it here.

Everything you need to know about autoplay on Paramount+

Can you turn off autoplay on Paramount+?

Yes, you can! Paramount+ does allow you to turn off the autoplay setting that causes the next episode of a TV show to play automatically when you’re watching a series. If you prefer to intentionally not binge-watch a TV show and like to go at your own pace, you can toggle the Paramount+ autoplay settings at will.

You won’t have to worry about wrangling with autoplay previews on show detail pages or the Paramount+ home page; however, the streamer’s app thankfully doesn’t use that kind of autoplay as of now.

Does turning off autoplay on one device affect all devices with Paramount+?

No, it does not. You can turn off autoplay on Paramount+, but if you do it on your computer, you will only see the setting adjust on your computer.

How to turn off autoplay on Paramount+

We’ll go through computer, smart TV, and mobile instructions here, because they’re all going to be a bit different. To adjust autoplay settings on the Paramount+ website, go to your profile icon and click Account. Scroll down until you see the autoplay setting, and toggle it on or off at will.

On your smart TV, pull up the left-hand menu, and scroll all the way down until you’re at the bottom option. Scroll down again to see your settings, then click Video. Here you’ll find the option to switch on or off autoplay.

On your smartphone (I tested on my Android phone), find your profile icon on the bottom-right of the screen. Click settings, and you’ll see autoplay right near the top of the menu.

Can you turn autoplay back on with Paramount+?

Definitely. All you have to do to turn autoplay back on with Paramount+ is to follow the instructions above to find the setting again, then switch autoplay back on whenever you want.
