How to Sign Up and Download MasterClass on VIZIO Smart TV

Unfortunately, MasterClass is not currently available natively using VIZIO Smart TV. MasterClass may launch a native app for VIZIO Smart TV in the future, but for now you can only stream using Apple AirPlay (2016+ models) or Google Cast (2016+ models).

You can still sign up for MasterClass and use it on other devices like Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV 4K, Google Chromecast, Roku, Android TV, iPhone/iPad, Android Phone/Tablet, Mac, Windows, LG Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV, and Sony Smart TV.

Apple AirPlay

  1. Click here to sign up for MasterClass.
  2. Install the MasterClass iPhone/iPad app.
  3. Once installed, log in using your MasterClass credentials.
  4. Make sure your Smart TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone/iPad.
  5. Start playing the content in the MasterClass app and select the AirPlay icon.
  6. Choose your VIZIO Smart TV and it will start displaying on your Smart TV.

If you have a compatible TV and you don’t see AirPlay as an option, make sure you update to the latest VIZIO Smart TV firmware.

Google Cast

  1. Click here to sign up for MasterClass.
  2. Install the MasterClass iPhone/iPad app or Android Phone/Tablet app.
  3. Once installed, log in using your MasterClass credentials.
  4. Make sure your Smart TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android Phone/Tablet or iPhone/iPad.
  5. Start playing the content in the MasterClass app and select the Google Cast icon.
  6. Choose your VIZIO Smart TV and it will start displaying on your Smart TV.

There are no parental controls for MasterClass.

Prime Video, Apple TV, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount Plus, Peacock, Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, and STARZ have parental control features.

Up to 6 Devices

MasterClass allows you to stream on up to 6 devices simultaneously.

Offline Downloads

Offline viewing is only available with the Duo or Family plan.

Each immersive learning experience features about 20 video lessons per class, lasting an average of 10 minutes each. Each class consists of 2-5 or more hours of video content. There are also downloadable Instructor Guides. There are world-class instructors like Gordon Ramsay (chef), Serena Williams (athlete), Bobbi Brown (makeup), Diane von Furstenberg (fashion), David Sedaris (humor), Alicia Keys (songwriting), and so much more.

The utility and entertainment value of each class varies. Penn & Teller do a fascinating and fun magic class, Martin Scorsese gushes about film history more than teaching you how to direct, and Annie Leibovitz’s photography session boils down to “take a picture and let your assistant color correct it.” You will find some classes fascinating and others more along the lines of a lengthy interview.
