Can you stream Vudu on Sony Smart TV?

How to Sign Up and Download Vudu on Sony Smart TV

Unfortunately, Vudu is not currently available natively using Sony Smart TV. Vudu may launch a native app for Sony Smart TV in the future, but for now you can only stream using Google Cast (2019+ models).

You can still watch Vudu on other devices like Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, Android TV, iPhone/iPad, Android Phone/Tablet, Mac, Windows, PlayStation, Xbox, LG Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV, and VIZIO Smart TV.

Google Cast

  1. Install the Vudu iPhone/iPad app or Android Phone/Tablet app.
  2. Make sure your Smart TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android Phone/Tablet or iPhone/iPad.
  3. Start playing the content in the Vudu app and select the Google Cast icon.
  4. Choose your Sony Smart TV and it will start displaying on your Smart TV.

Vudu

Vudu (now rebranded as Fandango at Home) is a digital movie and TV storefront from Fandango that lets users rent or purchase a large library of films and television series on demand. The service provides fast, flexible access to new releases, popular catalog titles, and 4K UHD content without requiring a monthly subscription.

…

Rather than a traditional streaming subscription service, Vudu operates as a transactional platform — viewers only pay for what they watch. It also offers a selection of free, ad-supported movies and TV shows through its “Free” section, giving users additional no-cost viewing options.

Vudu is available on a wide range of devices, including Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, smart TVs, gaming consoles, iOS and Android devices, and web browsers. Users can stream instantly or download select titles for offline viewing, depending on device support.

With its mix of new releases, deep catalog access, and flexible pay-per-title model, Vudu remains a go-to option for viewers who want a digital storefront for movies and TV rather than a subscription-based streaming bundle.

Users’ Vudu libraries remained intact with the rebrand and can be accessed through their Fandango accounts. Confusingly, ‘Fandango at Home’ and ‘Fandango’ share the same login information, but users cannot use credit cards, promotions, or gift cards associated with their Fandango account on the At Home service.
