VIZIO WatchFree+ to Exclusively Stream The Women’s Cup Soccer Tournament in August

The tournament will be WatchFree+’s first exclusive sporting event in the United States.

While the world’s attention is currently focused on the Olympic Games in Paris, that is not the only major, international sporting event that sports fans can stream in August. Beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 7, free streaming service VIZIO WatchFree+ will exclusively host The Women’s Cup Summer 2024 Tournament. This international soccer event becomes the first live sporting event that WatchFree+ has ever exclusively presented in the United States. The eight-game tournament will run from Aug. 7 through Saturday, Aug. 17 on a pop-up channel dedicated to the tournament.

Key Details

  • The Women’s Cup will air exclusively on VIZIO WatchFree+ from Aug. 7-Aug. 17.
  • This invitational tournament marks the first exclusive sporting event to air on WatchFree+ in the U.S.
  • The event will welcome teams from around the world to Louisville and Kansas City.

The Women’s Cup will welcome teams from around the world with clubs hailing from the United States, South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. In addition to the live game action, WatchFree+ channel No. 1301 will also broadcast games from previous installments of the tournament, as well as game highlights, interviews, and more.

“We are thrilled to be the exclusive home of The Women’s Cup in the United States, highlighting our commitment to showcasing excellence in women’s sports,” VIZIO group vice president Katherine Pond said. “Bringing live sports to WatchFree+ is one way that we can celebrate the talent and passion of female athletes while making world-class sports entertainment more accessible to everyone.”

The invitational tournament will be broken down into two locations for its U.S. leg — Louisville, Kentucky and Kansas City, Missouri — with four teams playing a mini-tournament in each city. Already this year, The Women’s Cup held an event in Colombia, with NJ/NY Gotham taking that title over Racing Louisville; the latter will be playing at home in this installment of the event. The Women’s Cup is played every year with events around the world from February to August. The tournaments are designed to offer clubs important international competition during their preseason. With matches airing on WatchFree+, it also provides the teams — and women’s sports in general — much-needed exposure.

“The Women’s Cup aims to reach new audiences and share the power of women’s soccer,” The Women’s Cup CEO John Paul Reynal said. “We are proud to name VIZIO the exclusive viewing destination for the tournament in the U.S. so that millions will be able to enjoy the best talent and competition from around the world.”

You can watch all of The Women’s Cup on VIZIO WatchFree+, which is available on [VIZIO Smart TVs].
