What are Sling TV’s password-sharing rules?
Does Sling TV enforce strict password-sharing restrictions, or are its policies pretty lax?
Sling TV has a ton of customer-friendly innovations that most live TV streaming services don’t come with. For one thing, you can sign up to watch a selection of Sling TV content for as little as $5 per day, a convenience most streaming services don’t provide, whether they be live or on-demand platforms.
The ease of accessing streaming services tempts many customers to use someone else’s account without paying for it, and some live TV platforms allow this. Does Sling TV? We’ll let you know more about its password-sharing policies here.
What password-sharing rules does Sling TV have?
What do Sling TV’s user conditions say about sharing passwords?
Sling TV doesn’t use language as outright explicit as some other streaming services do, but it is nevertheless clear on whether or not you are allowed to share your account in its terms of service. The conditions of use on Sling TV have the following to say about sharing passwords:
If you have a Membership Account, then your control of such Membership Account is exercised through your use and protection of your password. Please be aware that to maintain exclusive control and ensure compliance with these Terms of Use, you may not reveal or share your Login Credentials with anyone.
How many simultaneous streams are allowed with Sling TV?
That depends on which plan you have. The streamer’s Orange plan only allows one simultaneous stream, so if you have this package, it doesn’t matter if the others who want to use that account live in your household or not — you still can’t watch on more than one screen at a time.
Sling Blue lets you watch on up to three screens simultaneously, though once again, it appears these are meant to be watched all in the same home. The combined Sling Orange and Blue package comes with four simultaneous streams, but only one of those can be used to watch Sling Orange content at any given time.
How does Sling TV enforce password-sharing rules?
If you attempt to exceed the screen limits associated with your Sling TV package, anyone who attempts to log in and watch will get an error message noting that the limit has already been reached. Outside of that, however, there aren’t many widespread reports of Sling TV warning viewers they were about to lose account access thanks to password sharing.
