What is ‘Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair’ about?
Malcolm has successfully shielded himself and his daughter from his eccentric family for over a decade, but he can’t stay away forever. When Hal and Lois demand his presence at their 40th wedding anniversary party, he’s forced to re-enter a world of chaos that he thought he had left far behind.
Who stars in ‘Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair’?
“Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair” will reunite a huge portion of the show’s original cast, including Bryan Cranston (Hal), Frankie Muniz (Malcolm), Jane Kaczmarek (Lois), Christopher Kennedy Masterson (Francis), Justin Berfield (Reese), and Emy Coligado (Piama).
Caleb Ellsworth-Clark takes over the role of Dewey for the series, as the role’s original actor, Erik Per Sullivan, has retired from acting. Also joining the cast are Keeley Karsten as Malcolm’s daughter Leah, Vaughan Murrae as Malcolm’s youngest sibling Kelly, and Kiana Madeira as Malcolm’s girlfriend Tristan.
Are the stars of ‘Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair’ excited about the show’s return?
Casino.ca was able to catch up with Frankie Muniz at a recent celebrity golf tournament to ask him about the return of the show. In quotes provided to The Streamable, Muniz explained how eager he was for viewers to reunite with the show after so many years.
“I’m excited for people to see it. It’s only four episodes, so it’s a quick little reboot, but I hope people will love it,” Muniz told Casino.ca. It’s been 20 years since the show ended. It should be good.”
Muniz also revealed that Cranston was the driving force behind bringing the show back from the dead.
“It was his baby,” he said of Cranston. “To be honest, me and him went to dinner 11 years ago and started talking about the idea. He kind of headed it. He was the one who really got everyone involved, went to Disney, got the old producers and the creator involved.”
The series star also had the chance to ruminate on the fact that “Malcolm in the Middle” is still so relevant to fans more than a decade after going off the air.
“We did 151 episodes over seven years, and when you’re doing it, you don’t realize how much it truly means to (the audience) until you step away from it,” Muniz said. “Now it’s been 20 years, and I still have people coming up to me all the time telling me how much they love the show. The fact we could remake it knowing that people were excited for it, it was a fully different experience. And it was awesome. We loved it.”
