The Marvel Cinematic Universe is back in theaters for Valentine’s Day. “Captain America: Brave New World” is officially in theaters on Friday, Feb. 14. The long-anticipated film is a theatrical exclusive for now, but we’ll lay out when we think you can watch it on-demand via streaming at home below!

Key Details:

• Reviews for the movie have been decidedly mixed, but preview audiences have been kinder.
• The new “Captain America” will end up on Disney+ with the rest of the MCU.
• Recent experience with Marvel movies suggests a release window of around 100 days.

Watch the trailer for “Captain America: Brave New World”

“Captain America: Brave New World” sees Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) pick up the shield once again. After the discovery of a new element called adamantium, Wilson is enlisted by new U.S. president Thaddeus Ross to help counter global threats to stability. Wilson is reluctant, and as he learns more of Ross’s plans, he realizes it may be his duty to stop the president before his power becomes monstrous.

Reviews have been less than stellar for “Captain America: Brave New World,” which currently sports a 52% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. However, 78% of preview audiences have said they like the movie, suggesting that fans are enjoying it so far.

When will ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ be streaming?

As always, no official announcement has been handed down by Disney as to when “Captain America: Brave New World” will be streaming. But we do know that the movie will end up on Disney+ when it is ready to stream, joining all the other movies and TV shows in the MCU there.

We can use recent Marvel releases to at least take a guess at when “Captain America: Brave New World” will be available to stream. “The Marvels” came out on Disney+ 90 days after its November 2023 release, and “Deadpool & Wolverine” arrived on that service 110 days following its cinematic bow in July 2024. That seems to establish a pattern we can use to predict the streaming arrival date of “Captain America: Brave New World.”

I’ll lean toward the longer of these two windows, and predict that “Captain America: Brave New World” will stream on Disney+ on Tuesday, June 3, which is around 110 days from its release date. If that prediction holds, it will allow Disney+ to stage a big summer release event around the film if it chooses.
