When will you be able to stream movies teased at the Super Bowl?

Potential blockbusters like ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ and ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ put out trailers during the Big Game. We’ll let you know when we think they’ll be streaming!

See trailers from movies advertised at the Super Bowl and when we think you can stream them at home

As is traditionally the case, Sunday’s Super Bowl served as a chance for studios to advertise some of their biggest upcoming releases to the year’s largest TV audience. Some highly anticipated movies saw new trailer releases during the Big Game, including “Jurassic World Rebirth,” the live-action adaptations of “How to Train Your Dragon,” “Lilo & Stitch,” and others.

We’ve gathered all of these trailers in one place, and we’ll let you know when (and where) we predict you’ll be able to stream them with subscriptions to streamers like Disney+, Paramount+, and Peacock.

When and where can you stream movies advertised during Super Bowl LIX?

‘F1’

“F1” focuses on a formerly legendary F1 driver, portrayed by Brad Pitt. Forced out of the game due to injury, he finds himself being lured back when a team owner (Javier Bardem) convinces him to mentor a new, hotshot driver (Damson Idris) who could be better than he ever was. F1 is coming to theaters on June 25.

“F1” is a Warner Bros. release, and that means it will stream on Max once it’s no longer exclusive to theaters. WBD doesn’t have a release window that’s as easy to predict as other studios, but I’d wager you won’t see “F1” streaming until September at the earliest.

‘How to Train Your Dragon’

This movie whisks viewers to the magical island of Berk, whose Viking inhabitants have hated and fought against dragons for centuries. But when a young man named Hiccup befriends a rare Night Fury, he defies tradition and begins to chart a path of wonder and danger that he never anticipated. The film stars Mason Thames, Nico Parker, Nick Frost, and Gerard Butler, and hits theaters June 13.

“How to Train Your Dragon” comes from DreamWorks, which means it will be released to Peacock first when it’s ready to stream. I think the movie will be pretty popular, so I wouldn’t expect it to be available there until three to four months after it bows in theaters. I expect it to arrive on Peacock sometime in October or November.

‘Jurassic World Rebirth’

“Jurassic World Rebirth” is set years after “Jurassic World Dominion,” and shows audiences a world in which dinosaurs have mostly retreated to tropical climates. A big pharmaceutical company is convinced that a miracle cure to all kinds of diseases is hidden in dinosaur DNA, and sends a team to recover samples from animals living on an isolated island. The movie stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and Rupert Friend, and comes to cinemas on July 2.

Universal is handling “Jurassic World Rebirth,” and — like “How to Train Your Dragon” — that means that the movie will stream on Peacock first. I anticipate an even longer release window for the movie since I expect it will be a big earner, which might not make it to Peacock until around the holidays.

‘Lilo & Stitch’

Live-action remakes are all the rage at Disney, and this beloved animated feature is next on its list. In the furthest reaches of the galaxy, a mad scientist creates a new being with only one instinct: destruction. When he escapes and makes his way to Earth, however, the little critter discovers that family might be infinitely more rewarding than wrecking things. The movie stars Maia Kealoha, Sydney Agudong, and Courtney B. Vance, with Chris Sanders returning as the voice of Stitch. It comes to theaters on June 13.

As a Disney film, “Lilo & Stitch” will stream on Disney+ first when it leaves theaters. It seems like the kind of movie the studio would hold back from streaming to take advantage of holiday viewing, so for now I’ll predict it arrives on Disney+ in November or December.

‘Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning’

Is this the end of the line for Ethan Hunt? “Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning” will see the IMF agent and his group of compatriots try to save the world one last time. The ensemble cast also features Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Nick Offerman, Shea Whigham, and Greg Tarzan Davis. It comes to theaters on May 23.

Tom Cruise has a personal philosophy of ensuring his movies stay in theaters as long as possible. “Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning” came out in July 2023, but didn’t stream on Paramount+ until January 2024. I predict a similarly long release window for “Final Reckoning,” and I wouldn’t expect to see it stream on Paramount+ until Christmas at the earliest.

‘M3GAN 2.0’

The homicidal doll M3GAN is back for another bloodbath. Will she leave any survivors in her wake this time? Former robotics engineer Gemma is now an advocate for limiting the advance of AI after her first brush with M3GAN, but when the doll’s programming is stolen by a defense contractor, Gemma must revive her to face an even more dire threat. “M3GAN 2.0” comes to theaters on June 27, and sees Allison Williams and Violet McGraw return to their respective roles as Gemma and Cady.

The first “M3GAN” movie was something of a surprise hit for Universal, but it still came to streaming just 49 days after being released in theaters. I’ll predict the sequel will get the same release window, and that “M3GAN 2.0” will come out on Peacock sometime in August.

‘Novocaine’

“Novocaine” is a bit of a twist on the superhero genre. It stars Jack Quaid as Nathan Caine, a seemingly regular guy who cannot feel pain of any kind. When his girlfriend is kidnapped, he knows it’s up to him to rescue her — though his chances of being killed gruesomely are still incredibly high. Amber Midthunder, Ray Nicholson, and Jacob Batalon also star, and the movie hits theaters on March 14.

I’m not sure this will be Paramount’s biggest release of the year, and I don’t think viewers will have to wait longer than 50 days or so to see it in theaters. That would place it on Paramount+ in late April or early May if accurate.

‘Smurfs’

Papa Smurf has been kidnapped! The evil wizards Razamel and Gargamel have taken him to the real world, and it’s up to Smurfette to lead the rescue mission to bring him back again. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe. ‘Smurfs’ stars Rihanna as Smurfette, and John Goodman as Papa Smurf. It debuts in theaters on July 18.

Paramount is also distributing “Smurfs,” so it will come to Paramount+ when it’s ready to stream. I don’t think this one will get a long release window either, and will stream on-demand sometime in early September.

‘Thunderbolts*’

“Thunderbolts” takes viewers back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the Avengers are no more. The Earth still needs protectors, and even if the greatest powers on the planet have to turn to plan B… or plan C… they will. Enter the Thunderbolts, a team of antiheroes that fans of DC’s “Suicide Squad” will likely find somewhat familiar. “Thunderbolts*” stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, and Hannah John-Kamen, and arrives in theaters May 2.

“Thunderbolts*” isn’t exactly one of Marvel’s best-known properties, but I still think Disney will give it plenty of room to work in a theatrical window. I wouldn’t expect it to stream for at least 90 days, and think it will arrive on Disney+ in August or September.
