When will you be able to stream A24’s newest movie ‘Warfare’?
The film is based on the true-life experiences of co-writer Ray Mendoza.
A24 is at it again. Its newest movie “Warfare” arrives in theaters on Friday, April 11, and it already looks like the studio’s next big hit. We’ll fill you in on the details about the film, and give you our best guess as to when we think you’ll be able to watch it at home as well.

“Warfare” puts audiences in the center of the action by embedding them with a group if U.S. Navy SEALS in 2006. They’ve been deployed on a surveillance mission in enemy territory, but as these missions so often do, things go completely off the rails, forcing them to fight their way back out again.
Critics are nearly universal in their praise of the visceral, authentic storytelling in “Warfare.” It has a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 93% from audiences who have found their way to a preview screening of the movie so far. “Warfare” stars D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis, Joseph Quinn, Kit Connor, and Finn Bennett.
When will you be able to stream ‘Warfare’ at home?
Because A24 has a Pay-1 deal in place with Warner Bros. Discovery, “Warfare” will stream on Max when it is no longer exclusive to theaters and premium video-on-demand (PVOD) platforms like Prime Video that let audiences rent or buy movies that are still in cinemas.
It will probably be a bit of a wait to stream “Warfare” from the comforts of your couch. Pretty much universally, other A24 films have all had theatrical windows of more than 100 days. “Civil War” didn’t stream on Max until 155 days after its original release, and “Y2K” only came to the streamer this month, 119 days after arriving in theaters last December.
I think “Warfare” will take every bit as long as “Civil War” to reach Max, and therefore won’t arrive on the streamer until Friday, Sept. 12, 154 days from its initial release. That would line up with the pattern of other A24 releases, but it may not make fans too happy to hear it.
